MORE TEXAS MEETINGS
NOVEMBER:
November's meeting was scheduled for Dallas. We planned on going to Dave & Buster's for their Murder Mystery Dinner Theater. Ruthie, Christie (CJSeppson) and Candra (CankdraK1) were supposed to attend from Dallas. Tammy (Tammy825) was supposed to attend from Houston. Tammy got sick with the flu bug so called Ruthie and said she wasn't coming. Christie and Candra were still good to go. The time came to meet and Ruthie met Christie at D&B. Candra never showed, so just the two of us went and had a good time. No pictures were taken, but here are the comments posted on the update:
Ruthie said: Well, Tammy decided to stay in Houston because they were calling for sleet this evening in TX. (IMAGINE!!) As of this hour, it has yet to drop a single drop of anything wet at my house. However, she was feeling sick also, so I forgive her. Candra was MIA, but I'm sure she has a good reason. Hopefully, she will join us next time. So, it was just Christie and I at the murder mystery dinner. The actors were all quite wonderful and circulated throughout the dining area while acting. Christie and I do not make very good sleuths, however, we guessed wrong. Tammy, I know you are going to read this, so I want you to know that I only had one serving of fruit ('rita!!). I was a very good girl, just wasn't the same without ya. Since we have new Dallas members that have just joined recently, I hope that January's get together has a better showing. I would love getting to meet all of you!
Candra's reply: Oh Ruthie! I feel so stupid!!! I wanted to color my hair before I went out with you all (I have some icky gray popping up). It was about 5:00 when I started to do my hair. Anyway, It triggered a major asthma attack like I have never had before. My inhaler wasn't doing the job so I had to go to the emergency room for a breathing treatment! I was so mad!! By the time I got home (several hours later) I was not feeling very well. I am so sorry that I missed the event. It sounds like it was fun. I am also sorry that Tammy couldn't make it. We'll shoot for next time!
DECEMBER:
December's meeting was cancelled. We all decided we had too much going on with Christmas.
JANUARY:
January, we met in Houston again. It was supposed to be Ruthie, Christina and Tammy, and some other gals from the Houston area. None of the other girls showed, and due to miscommunication, or at least a lack of communication, it ended up just being Ruthie and Tammy. We went to Dave & Busters again and then planned on going to City Streets afterwards. But, since it was just the two of us, we went to a bar called Geezers instead and shot darts. Here's the comments on that meeting:
Tammy said: Well, Ruthie was the only one that could make it to this gathering. She drove all the way from Dallas to meet with the group. But, we still had a great time. We got to Dave & Buster's around 5:40 because someone had said that they would be there around 5:30. Nobody was there yet, so we sat at the bar and had a 'rita(that's fruit in ediet talk). We sat and sipped the 'ritas until we just could wait any longer. We headed to the restaurant at 6:30. We had a great spinach salad and I talked Ruthie's ear off about the good times with my dad..poor Ruthie. After we were done with dinner, we headed over to the arcade and played a few games. We had our picture taken in front of the Eiffel Tower,too..Ruthie will be posting the pic soon. So, after using all of our game money, we had to decide where to go. I was a bit limited on funds this time, so I didn't want to go to a place with a cover charge. So, we headed to my ol' faithful Geezer's. There we ran into Bill, my guy friend that gave me flowers last week. We sat down and got a drink..which he paid for. We were talking about how dead it was and that we should go somewhere else...when Andy (a different guy)sent us a drink..so we had to stay. So, we said that after that drink we were going to Chayn's which is a small place but has a dancefloor and really nicely dressed men. Well, as we were taking the last sip of our drink Rayford asks us if we would like to play darts and Bill buys us a drink..so we thought "well one or two games and then we can head out..it is still early". So we played Rayford a couple of times, Ruthie won once and Rayford won once. We go sit down and there is another drink sitting there. So, we said, "after this drink we are outta here." Meanwhile, Andy decides to occupy Bill's seat next to me. So, he is sitting there talking to us and keeping us company when another drink comes over from Bill. He was playing pool with Rayford and I guess he didn't want us to forget him..by this time I'm forgetting everyone!! Well, Bill and Rayford decide that they want us to shoot darts with them again. So, we go play partners. Ruthie and I won one, Bill and Rayford won one and Ruthie and Rayford won 5!!! During the games, Bill buys us another drink..geez!! Then, we all go sit down and are talking when in walks Jamie, a long story but a excellent pool player. Along with him comes Bruce and another friend. So, I say "hi" to Bruce and he is so polluted that he doesn't realize who I am..so he asks me how he knows me. I just go to the restroom and keep him wondering(by the way, I met him through a girl friend of mine at Geezer's). Well, I come out and there is Bruce waiting for me. He puts his arm around me and said, in a very loud voice, "Did we sleep together?" I was mortified!!! I just walked off and couldn't say anything. Well, that made Andy mad and for the rest of the night, Andy kept asking me if I wanted him to take him to the bathroom and work him over. Then, Bruce sent over two drinks for us, to apologize for being so rude. He said that it was just that when he runs into a woman and she says "well..don't say hi then" it usually means that he had slept with her. To which I responded in a very sexy voice, "Honey you would remember it if we had slept together" What could he say to that. He just walked off. Then, Jamie came over and asked me to play pool with him. I had told him that I wanted him to teach me, earlier in the night. So, he proceeded to instruct me when Ruthie shouts at me "Hey, Tammy"...I'm thinking..what in the world is she up to. Well, come to find out Andy was worried about where I was. He was ready to hurt Bruce..So she was just showing him that I was fine and that I was with Jamie. Finally, it was 2am and we headed home. We barely said "good-night" to each other.. Ruthie went to my bathroom and pottied and I went to Amber's. Then she crashed in my bed and I crashed in Amber's. Amber spent the night with a friend of hers. At 11am today, Ruthie comes in and tells me that she is leaving. I couldn't believe that I had slept that late..I never sleep that late!! So, now she is on her way home.
Ruthie said: Well, obviously, I made it home hours ago! I even managed to get the house clean! We did have a great time, even though I was looking forward to seeing some of you again, and meeting some of you for the first time. I was to I-45 before I remembered my CD's - due to the HANGOVER!!! Just bring them with you when you come up, I'll live! BTW - I have a Kenny Chesney one in Amber's stereo too. Oh yeah, my shampoo and conditioner is in your shower too. Didn't know that one til I got home and unpacked. No big deal, though, you don't have to bring those with you!! You have the Eiffel Tower pic - in your purse! Tammy forgot to tell you all the best part - the other reason we went to Geezer's was cuz we (Tam) knew we'd get bought drinks there. Golly, but she didn't know how right she was! The last time I remember counting, I THINK we were up to 8 Zimas, but I still can't be sure about that! But hey, we put limes in them, so it was a FRUIT drink of a different variety!

JULY:
July's meeting was impromptu (hence no pictures). Tammy, Ruthie, Colleen, and Jenna met at TGIF for dinner and were going to head to City Streets afterwards. We got so busy talking that we ended up sitting at the restaurant for 6 hours, just chatting!
Just goes to show you that we can have tons of fun, no matter what we do!
