Austin, Texas

We had a great time in Austin!

We picked Coleen and Brendaly up at the airport. We had to wait on them because both of them had been delayed due to bad weather. So Krik and I are standing under one of the monitors that tells you when each flight is coming in and trying to figure out which gate, etc. When I turned around and almost bumped into SCOTT! NOT! *G* It was a dude that resembled Scott. I say "resembled" because he had blonde "Scott length" hair, shades...and he was BUILT! But this guy was bigger than Scott and after we watched him for awhile, we got the impression that he KNEW he was hot. You know the kind of guy I'm talking about. The kind that walks around like "Look at me! I'm cute, huh?" So no. NOT Scott. *G*

Anyway, we finally find Brendaly and Coleen and though their flights were rough, they'd made it okay. Back to the motel to rest and get ready for the show.

We found the Paramount with little difficulty, which is always cool, and parking was close by. We weren't thrillled with the tickets we'd gotten online, so Coleen decided to ask if there were better seats. There were. Instead of rows L and M, we got E. So YAY that! Met Harley from the forum. Justin found us after the show, I believe, and introduced us to his girlfriend Kristi, and of course we had already met his beautiful mom and sisters.

Showtime!

The show opened as usual to "Tonight". I love the line, "And I don't mind chasin' my tail." *G* I want all the words to this song!

Scott did the introductions, of course (FYI: Since there are certain things they say in every show, I'm not going to continue to repeat those things. If you don't know by now...*G* It'll help the reviews go faster. *G*) "Moments of You": The little "Dance" they do here is getting sexier with alot of hip rolls/thrusts. YES!

Scott: "We came to Austin a bunch of years ago. We came to the campus there, during Spring Break...no one came. So I thank you for coming out tonight. I know it's a big weekend for the Longhorns (Big UT/OU Game. It has been MANY years (if ever) that UT has ever beaten OU. Huge rivalry). Scott: "How many years has it been?" *many groans from the audience* Jeff makes "desert wind sounds".

Scott: "We use no instruments up here. Unless there's something I'm not aware of behind the curtain." Then Scott of course, explains what each member does. I love it when Jeff removes the mic from his mouth and just does the bass from his throat. I THINK Krik was still with us after that. *G*

"Off My Mind": There were several little "cuties" on the front row and George was having a blast! He really gave the "stage love" to one of them. LOL Bad George, bad. Do it again!

"Dancin' In The Street": Poor Brendaly. When Kev says "Chicago", she is the ONLY one who yells. *G*

"Stand By Me": The little "snap steps" are so cool. I love the choreography in this song, especially at the end: "Well I won't be afraid..." When Kev/George/Scott have their backs to the audience and are doing these hand movements. So COOL! And John does an awesome job on this song. Go John!

"Use Me": Um...the "Dance". Need I say more? *G*

Kevin: "How is everybody tonight? Howdy, howdy! That's how they do it here, right? You can't say it once. You can't just go 'Howdy'." *someone from the audience yells, "You gotta talk like 'is." Kev: *heavy twang* "Gotta talk like 'is? I lived in Houston for a little while. And...well you won't yell for this...but I lived in McAllen, Texas." Kev goes on to say that McAllen has the highest number of car thefts in the US. "I wasn't driving at the time, so I didn't know that. So we're really excited to be here in Texas. Everybody has big hearts and they all take care of us very well. We always love to come back to Texas. As Scott said, we're from Florida. We've had quite a year so far. I think it's over. There are so many great things about Florida. One of them are beaches. White sand. Very hot but that allows you to enjoy the sights. Birds (John makes bird sounds, while Jeff is imitating the ocean.), girls in bikinis. Men in speedos. Does anyone here wear a speedo? You do? What color is it? Is it blue?...Gray! Takes a very bold man to admit, "I'm a speedo wearer!" Scott: "I wear a speedo too. But it's cammo...cause I'm shy." Suuure...*G* Kev: "What's your name?" The guy said his name was George. Kev: "I wear a speedo and I'm proud! I'm wearing red, dadgummit!"

"Under The Boardwalk": Jeff does a pretty sad imitation of a shark. It appears HIS shark has a broken rudder cause he only goes in left circles. *G* But it is SO cute! And when he and George are shoveling sand...LOL!

Scott: "I don't think you should wear a red speedo in Texas, with all the cattle." Scott looks around: "Suddenly there's a lot of snickering." *G* "Have Faith": Very well done!

"Lazy River"

"Rock the Boat": Scott has a very hard time getting the audience to say "Do it" at the right time. *G* He's like, "C'mon people! Don't you guys have ANY rhythm?" *G* I think we've finally figured out the little dance step during the break: "Step, step, side to side, round and round, dip it down, separate, bring it back. So you do the "Love Slide"." Well...that's CLOSE anyway. *G* And OMG! I LOVE John's little dance! He is SO cool! And of course George and Jeff's VP/Bass break. George: "I like hot butter on my breakfast toast!" *G*

There was a 15 minute intermission, which is cool cause it makes the show last longer. *G* They returned to the stage with "Small World", which I LOVE! I think the Rockapella Roadtrippers (me, Krik, Coleen and Brendaly) were the ONLY ones yelling the "Aye-A!" part. *G* And of course I just love the little "robots". Jeff is now using a hammer on George. *G* Go Jeff!

Scott told how Rockapella got started. Then he told how Rockapella was asked to perform on Spike Lee's "Do It A Cappella" and named some of the "big names" that performed. Scott: "But the "funny" group. The "ha ha" group...was Rockapella." He told about being the house band for "WITWICS". "But that was not the biggest moment. It's wasn't the "acme", the "apex", the finest moment of our career."

"Rockapella's Greatest Hit"

"Long Cool Woman": I swear, once of these days, Kev is going to drop his mic when he throws it in the air. LOL I wanna be there! *G*

John: "Are we having a good time?! We like to do all kinds of music. We're going to take you back to the "old school" where everything is real nice and...*(does a VERY sexy dance/slide move)*...John looks at a girl in the audience: "You know what I'm talkin' about. You fine. Mm. Mm. Mm. (John is SO bad. *G*)

"My Girl": I LOVE how John kinda squeals right at the beginning of this song. *G*

John picked out a very cute young lady from the front row. And yes. She was wearing a skirt. Her name was Lauren. Kev (puts his arm around Lauren): "What do you do, Lauren?" Lauren: "I'm a cheerleader." Kev: "How old are you, Lauren?" Lauren: "I'm still in high school." Kev (and the rest of Da Boyz) backed off like he'd been shocked! *G* *Much laughter* Kev: "Well, uh...my nephew's here tonight. He's in high school." Kev asked Lauren what she'd like to be when she graduated and she told him that she'd like to be a psychologist. Kev: "So I could come in and I could say, I've got some problems, I think something happened to me in my childhood. What do you think?" *Lauren is silent* Kev: "You've got a long time. What? Three years to hone your craft." Scott *pointing to the front row*: "So are you guys all cheerleaders? Let's hear a cheer. Give it up. I'll start." Scott starts to do a cheer. "Ready? Okay!" Um...Don't. Just...don't. *G* I love him! *G* Lauren ain't buying any of it. She won't do it. Kev: "You don't have to get up. Just sit there and do it. Like go, uh huh. Uh huh." So Lauren goes, "Okay." And GRABS the mic from Kev who gets this look on his face like, "Well, fine!" and steps back. *G* So Lauren is trying to get her friends to help and they won't. Jeff: "Your team's losing! Quick! Help!" Nothing. Kev: "Well I think you're going to be a great psychologist."

"Oh, Lauren. You are way way way too young...That's it."

"Ain't Too Proud To Beg": George apparently didn't mind that she was in high school. He STILL got on his knees and begged her. *G* Did a nice bump with Scott. They got a little overzealous pulling her back and forth across the stage. Scott: "We're very sorry about that Lauren. She looked terrified those last few moments. 'Will this ever end?'" Kev: "She's like, 'I told them I was in high school!'" Jeff *mimicking Lauren and a broken arm*: "My ARM!" They all kinda got tickled for a few seconds here. *G*

"I'll Hear Your Voice"

George: "I hear them singing that and I go 'Boy! He sho' does have a pretty voice. I used to sing high like that." *laughter* "You think I'm joking." He sang a few bars of "I Will Always Love You". George: "What if there weren't any basses in the world? Wouldn't you ladies by sad? If you heard this song sung by "one of the girls"...it wouldn't be that exciting." He sang some song in falsetto. "Now see? That doesn't do anything for you, does it?" Then he sang it LOW. *G* He told about audition and he was thinking, "Please. Don't make me sing that song. You know what song." He sang a bit of "Old Man River". George said people asked how he got to be a bass and told about drinking that "stuff". "You know what I'm talking about...milk. It does a body good. The chocolate kind, of course."

"Papa Was A Rolling Stone"

"Where In The World Is Carmen Sandiego/Zombie Jamboree" medley. Some complained that this just didn't work. I enjoyed it, actually. However, don't worry. Apparently Da Boyz didn't like it either cause it looks like they've changed it back. More on that later. *G* Kev: "Ow! Ow!" Scott: "What? What?" Kev: "I don't know. Something in my femur going down to my tibia." Scott: "You're very knowledgeable. Are you a doctor?" Kev: "No, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night." LOL Scott and George were doing the back to back and Kev came over to join them. Scott put his hand WAY out, so he couldn't. *G*

Encores:

"Up On The Roof/Wonderful World": The little dance during WW is just SO cute! They look like a bunch of little boys. Especially Scott. *G*

Scott: "The day after tomorrow we'll be in Lufkin. I don't know how far it is, but if you wanna come..." Kev: "Road trip!" Scott: "Who IS coming?" Me, Coleen Brendaly and Krik yelled. Scott: "Well that's four. Two more and Rockapella will be outnumbered." *G* "But we've had a great time tonight. We can't stay but we'll come back again. We'll see you soon."

"Dance With Me".

"Shambala"

"A Change In My Life" Kev put a littel extra at the end of this one. Some very high "yeah, yeahs". Very nice! *G*

"Keep Smilin'" Scott: "Well, you're 'bout to go insane, yeah. Think you might lose the big game. Those damn Sooners are to blame. Just keep on smilin'." During the VP break: "Hook 'em Horns, Hook 'em Horns." George: "Damn Sooners".

What a great show! We had so much fun! And Da Boyz seemed to be having a blast onstage! Unfortunately cameras weren't allowed during the show, but we got a few from the M&G. None of them were great either because of poor lighting. But no matter. We still had more shows to see!
