2002:  The continuation

It's been over 6 months since the last Death Row pages for classic GM A-bodies have been published; although a budget crunch has delayed yard missions, there will be fewer pics this year, since the author has previous commitments.  Because of the late publication, the pics uploaded was the first time a digital camera was smuggled behind enemy lines.

Sightings from Pasadena (7.21.02):  a 1971 Cutlass sedan.  Although the interior was stripped, this was the first pre-1973 A-body on death row.  Although the last 'real' GM A-body was last produced over 30 years ago, supplies are drying up on death row, and to date, a faded memory.

Sighting from North Drennan:  a 1968 Chevelle 4-door sedan.  This is the second 1968 4-door Chevelle I came across, and for the past 8 years, I have seen 3 hardtops, 2 sedans, a station wagon, and one El Camino.    Here's the chronology of the sightings:

April and May 1994:  hardtop coupe and 4-door sedan (Wallisville Pick-A-Part)
September - December 1995:  hardtop coupe (Northville Pick-A-Part)
April 1996:  station wagon (Pasadena Pick-N-Pull)
May 1996:  hardtop coupe (Wallisville Pick-A-Part)
May 1998:  El Camino (Take-A-Part and Save)

To date, the 1968 model year (all GM marques) is the least likely to be on death row, since they have been sought-after by collectors.  When I came across the Chevelle, it has been taken out of the inventory, awaiting it's fate with the crusher.  The rear quarters and trunk floor have been surgically removed, as well as the front doghouse and instrument cluster.  I have spotted V8 frame towers; however, they are the least desirable 707 and 708s.
