The following pages are in honor of my little sister
Sonya Socorro Carrillo.
Her and four of her friends young lives were taken because of one person's carelessness. I feel like if
this helps one person to realize how their behavior
affects others, then it was worth all the time that
Patricia and I put into this.
About a week and a half after Sonya's 21st
birthday, her and four friends that she worked with
went out to a club in Dallas. From what we were told
by others who met them out there. They all had a great time. Well on their way home that night a man ran a red light. He was going about 85 mph. when he hit
them.
Nobody survived.
Not only have we lost our sister and very best friend, but our nephew lost his mommy. Sonya was a single mother. Her son was the center of her universe. She was taken the day before his 3rd birthday. We later found out that this man was not drunk but running late for work. He had forgotten something from home and was rushing. If he would have slowed down what's the worst that could have happened? A write up
maybe? His carelessness has forever changed the lives of so many people.
Six lives were taken that night. Six!
Parents,Grandparents,Wives,Aunts,Uncles,Brothers,
Sisters,Sons,Daughters.......
Do you realize how many peoples lives were crushed
because of this? I hope this will help people realize how precious life is. How fast it can be taken away. And if you can take
anything at all from this let it be to slow down. What are the consequences of being a little late? Is
it worth your life or the lives of others? I love you Sonya!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Happy Birthday!
