My father instilled in me the love of music
at a very young age. He was an accomplished
musician who played the violin and guitars.
I also remember him singing blue yodals to the
music of the 20's.

Play me the merry music of my love
Play it soft and sweet and low
Let it linger in the air and land all over me
Let it simmer silently there until it sizzles

Play me the marvelous music of my love
Make my music fast and furious
Force it long and loud and large
Ram it hard and hot and heavy
Hear it bounce brilliantly off winsome walls
Wail wildly the song that's in your soul

Play me the magical music of my love
Play it without thinking
Feel it welling up and waiting to explode
Feel it fierce and faint and fleeting
See it soaring superciliously
Touch the tunes with your tongue
Cradle the notes with the nape of your neck

Play me the mystical music of my love
Play it proudly and with power
Push it in and pull it out
Mark it on my memory so that it remains
Recorded there for perpetual replay
Strain to stamp it starkly
There and then picture paradise

Play me the miraculous music of my love
Make my music with your hands
And with your heart

Lying in the fragrance,
of a soft summer morn
Listening to the gentle breeze,
that silently wanders on

Golden memories wander
through ageless fields of life
Drifting flowers melt against
the sun's soft golden light

The waters of the soft blue sea
recede in silent struggle
Glistening sea gulls in white
frocks swoop down with cries of wonder

Beauty lies among the thoughts
of moments gone today
Bequiled by memories and
dreams of golden yesterdays
