FLAMING LEAVES

Flaming leaves against a background of allure
Sensual and passionate the colors of fall
Rustling leaves that fall so gently, drifting to the ground
Innocense and purity forever can be found

Dusty roads filled with fruit stands, pumpkins on the side
Apples by the bushel, cider jugs to hide
Autumn in the country, a time of busy chores
Humming in the garden, apple pies and more

Passionate and splendid, colors rich with hue
Green and gold and burnt orange, leaves covered with dew
Bare against a backdrop of rich and earthy tones
The trees shed leaves to give rebirth, quietly, alone

Come in and sit down.
We are having an old fashioned turkey with dressing and a cajun turkey, too.
Then there is ham and candied yams, mashed potatoes and gravy,peas and corn on the cobb.
Mmm, good!

Dear Lord, we give thanks for this bountiful feast.

Thanksgiving

A demon dances
An earthly prance
Upon the dying leaves
With icy fingers spinning webs
Of crystal filigree.

The sparkling scene
On carpets green
Reflects the morning rays
As star-like patterns
Cling to earth
This crispy autumn day.

The demon nips
At toes and lips
On rocks and branches too
Reminding creatures everywhere
That summer's days are through.
