UUUUUU

First off (YOU) ARE AN IDIOT. That having been said, let's discuss why you are an idiot. Recently some wise and ever open minded, omniscient civic leaders casually decided to rewrite the U.S. constitution and limit some of "our" rights. They seek to limit the freedom of "choice" of only those who do not agree with their self-righteous visions of utopia. Not only did "they" decide when and where one might smoke tobacco but also how and why one might establish policies in their own place of business, not to mention confusing the issues along the way. This article is for those of you who are ever so often confused. First of all let's get the issues straight! Smoking tobacco is no more the issue than eating Brussels Sprouts or driving a Ford truck, rather the right to choose these things and more is the core issue. Among these other "choices" one might consider the right to own and operate their own business, the right not to wear their seat-
belt, the right to decide for themselves whether or not to buy auto insurance, the right to decide if they would like to join the military, the right to have a specific amount of money on their person, or my favorite, the right to choose your own doctor! If you don't buy this then yes you are an idiot. It seems to me with ever increasing frequency we are giving up more and more choices. There are always activists who want this or that for one reason or another (usually money). These people do not have your best interest in mind only their pocket-book or their ability to control you. For instance why do anti-smoking fanatics feel their right to be smoke free should outweigh anyone else's right to smoke in a privately owned establishment? Please correct me if I am wrong but, does this not simply reverse the situation? If this is true then how can this be the correct method for equality under the law? It seems rather simple to me. If you do not agree with smoking or stripping or loud music then don't frequen
t the places that offer these "choices". Do not support them with your hard earned money. Please quit trying to turn "my" world into your own personal version of Utopia. 'Dijano' that in utopia everyone is free to choose equally? If you want others to respect your rights then you better begin to respect the rights of others! Copyright 2001 Tres Amigos press _
