reading
If you are going to teach your kids how to read?you might want to try The Phonics Museum by Veritas Press. It?s a really great program and I?m sure you?d love it. It has really lovely stories and beautiful pictures.

I was once the Assistant Manager of The Homeschool Store and it was, by far, once of my favorite programs. Anything Veritas puts out is great!

curly hair
I fell asleep on my bed today after a took a bath. (I have a cold...and I'm hooked on the Johnson & Johnson's soothing baby bath.) Since I fell into dream land with wet hair, I work up with very curly dry hair. It's crazy!

painting
Guess what? Apparently nobody knows that I paint. I talked about one of my paintings around RUFers once and they all said "you paint?!"

It was disturbing! Maybe someday I'll get around to tossing my paintings in a gallery...then I'll make you guys come and see them all. I have this great Art Prof who is nagging me to go for it. She thinks I can get into a gallery...no problem.

It's not that I'm nervous about showing my art or anything. I love getting feedback on my art. It doesn't hurt my creative process at all. In fact, I think it enhances it.

And I think I could deal with getting some money in my checking account. *finally!* But I pour so much into my art that I feel like showing it to others is so personal! I'd almost rather flash them...I know that sound so wrong. My paintings are like pictures of my soul.

sleep problems
For about a week I've been complaining to my mother that I need a new bed. I've had this awful spring that's been hitting me in the back.

I've also been telling her how I need new glasses since I'd lost mine.

Turns out, I've been sleeping on my glasses. They got all tangeled up in my bedding somehow. I feel *so* smart!

Tonight I'm missing hanging out with Will and The Chocolate party. :-( At least it's letting me get a lot of design work done. (As in web design!) I'm going for the really cool retro style for my webpage. I think you guys will like it.

9 Thoughts on Homosexuality
Ahh! I?m so excited! Robin asked me to address something on my blog so now I have an excellent reason not to do the Spanish homework that?s looming over my head.

So let us charge onward into the subject of gay marriage?

1. I have gay friends. I have many of them! I think that some of them have wonderfully big hearts and they care for me then many other people I know. These are friends that will be there for me through thick and thin. These are also friends who know that I think the lifestyle they are choosing to live in is wrong.

2. Homosexuality is wrong. The Bible clearly states that it is. And since the Bible is God?s word, it is what I live my life by.

Leviticus 18:22 Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.

Leviticus 20:13 If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.

Romans 1:26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:

Romans 1:27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.

Romans 1:32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

1 Corinthians 6:9-10 Or do you not know that the unrighteous will no inherit the kingdom of God? Do no be deceived; neither fornicators, no idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, no thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, no swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God.

3. The church is not doing a proper job in dealing with the issue. It isn?t. I?m ashamed. Do I think that homosexuals are living in sin? Yes! But so is the man who is having an affair with someone who is not his wife?or the alcoholic. Yet, we would welcome them through our church doors on a Sunday morning. The church needs to deal with homosexuals in a much more loving matter.

4. Negative Health Effects. Hollywood and the media relentlessly propagate the image of the fit, healthy, and well-adjusted homosexual. The reality is at polar opposites to this caricature: homosexual and lesbian relationships are typically characterized by instability, promiscuity, and unhealthy and risky sex practices, factors that greatly increase the incidence of serious and incurable sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), including hepatitis, HPV, syphilis, gonorrhea, and AIDS.

5. Psychiatric Problem? For years homosexuality was seen as a psychiatric issue. Individuals who had tramatic experiences in their childhood were having issues with their sexuality. Why has the psychiatric community changed it?s stance on this issue? Was is new research? No. Was is some fabulous discovery? No. It was simply the fact that America was able to accept it as just another ?norm?. I think the fact that is was regarded as a mental condition for so long is very telling.

6. Gay, but not forever. If people are born homosexual, why do we have people renouncing their homosexuality?

7. What next? I truly feel as if we are sliding very quickly down the slippery slope. We are headed to legalized polygamy and incest. Shocking? It shouldn?t be. Look at the past? The pill brought about sexual promiscuity in the 60?s. It made sex outside marriage ok. So then, since it was ok to have sex before marriage, why wasn?t it ok who you had sex with? Next, it will be how many partners?and then who the partners can be.

8. Masculinity and Femininity. If homosexuality is totally natural, why do we find, in homosexual relationships, that one person takes on more masculine traits, and one takes on more feminine? We usually find couples where one is taking on the ?breadwinner? role and one is taking on the ?housekeeper? role. Why is this?

9. Adam and Eve. Why wasn?t it Adam and Adam?.or Eve and Eve? If God had intended for homosexuality to be a natural practice, he would have allowed asexual reproduction.

5 things I just don't care to hear anymore about...
1. JFK Jr. or anything that has to do with him or his wife.
2. What Richard Clarke thinks.
3. Janet Jackson's breast.
4. Gay marriage.
5. The Atkins Diet.

swimming
Well, my mother almost convinced me to jump in the pool this weekend. I'm so glad I didn't the water would have been really cold. (She just needed someone to jump in and clean it fo her anyway.) I think she got my brother to go for it.

It made me want the warmer weather. I'm so ready to lay in the pool. Abby, we should host pool parties this summer, for sure!

Oven Gets Hot, Woman Gets Shot
SAN ANTONIO (Reuters) - A Texas woman heating fish sticks was shot in the leg by a gun that had been stashed in her oven, police said.

Mon Mar 29,10:37 AM ET
Roxanne Perez, 29, was taken to a local hospital where she was in good condition, police said Friday.

They said a friend of hers had hidden the .357 caliber handgun in the stove two weeks earlier without telling her after she told him no guns were allowed in her house.

When Perez heated up the fish sticks she also heated up the gun, which caused several rounds to be fired. One hit her in the leg.

No charges have been filed because the shooting was accidental, police said.

What were they going to do? Charge Mrs. Paul?
