”GOD, why don’t you answer me?”
We often hear ourselves saying this, perhaps we are just NOT LISTENING!
Our prayers are ALWAYS answered; the answer just might not be what we wanted.
"By listening to the inner self and following one's instincts and intuitions, a person may be guided to safety."
- Dr. A.C. Ross (Ehanamani), LAKOTA
Be still and know. The Medicine Wheel teaches the four directions of inner power-not personal power, but the power of God. These four directions are emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual. As our emotions get too far out of control, we simultaneously create an equivalent mental picture, our physical body fills with stress and tension, and we become spiritually confused. When we experience these uptight feelings, the best thing to do is mentally pause, slow down our thinking, breathe slowly, or pray and ask the spirits to help. Only when we approach the stillness of the mind do we get access to our spiritual guidance system. To be guided, let your mind be still.
Prayer: Creator, today, let me reside in Your stillness.

INNER HEARING MEDITATION
Focus on your breath and the beating of your own heart allowing these rhythms to establish.
Your own personal rhythms will allow you to explore and inhabit the sounds we are listening to and also become aware of a new level of inner hearing.
Focusing on breath, start to hear the sound of balance and whatever this may sound like to you. As you hear what balance sounds like to you on the inner level, feel the vibration of balance and the stabilizing quality it has. Allow yourself to breathe in the vibration of balance so that it creates a space so that it may resonate within you and then let it go, by breathing out the vibration of balance.
Focusing on breath, now start to hear the sound of acceptance and whatever this may sound like to you. As you hear what acceptance sounds like to you, feel the vibration of acceptance and the liberating quality it has. Allow yourself to breathe in the vibration of acceptance so that it creates a space within you and let this acceptance find resonance in any area of your body, life and consciousness that you may need or want or that it is drawn to and then let it go by breathing out the vibration of acceptance.
Focusing on breath, now start to hear the sound of compassion and whatever this may sound like to you. As you hear what compassion sounds like to you, feel the vibration of compassion and the opening quality it has. Allow yourself to breathe in the vibration of compassion so that it creates a space within you. Let this compassion find resonance in your consciousness and then let it go by breathing out the vibration of compassion to all around you.
Focusing on breath, now start to hear the sound of inspiration and whatever this may sound like to you. As you hear what inspiration sounds like to you, feel the vibration of inspiration and the energizing quality it has. Allow yourself to breathe in the vibration of inspiration so that it begins to inhabit your being and resonates within you and let inspiration find resonance in your consciousness, and then let it go by breathing out the vibration of inspiration.
And take as much time as you need, to allow the qualities and vibrations we have brought forth to resonate within you as you continue to breathe in and create a space for balance, acceptance, compassion and inspiration, so that you may bring them into your day with you. And start breathing in some clarifying and grounding breaths now as we prepare to transition out of meditation feeling purified, centered and energized.
You may want to reconnect with your body by moving your hands, feet, head and neck slowly, shading your eyes with your hands before opening them slowly, allowing yourself some time to adjust.
