The Greatest is LOVE
1 Corinthians 13
  1. Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not love, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.
  2. And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not love, I am nothing.
  3. And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not love, it profits me nothing.
  4. Love suffers long, and is kind; love envies not; love vaunts not itself, is not puffed up,
  5. Does not behave itself unseemly, seeks not her own, is not easily provoked, thinks no evil;
  6. Rejoices not in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth;
  7. Bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
  8. Love never fails: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.
  9. For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.
  10. But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.
  11. When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.
  12. For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
  13. And now abides faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.

Do you LOVE? Do you love GOD? Do you love yourself? Do you love others?
The word LOVE, used here, in Greek is "agapas".
Which means "To have a feeling of love for; to regard with affection or good will; as, to love one's children and friends; to love one's country; to love one's God." There is more of judgment and deliberate choice in this meaning than in other feelings of "love".
"the commandment is love out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of faith unfeigned" - I Timothy 1:5
LOVE GOD (Creator/Father/Great Spirit/etc.)
"And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might." - Deuteronomy 6:5
In order to truly LOVE GOD we must LOVE others.
"And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also." - I John 4:21
"But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you" - Matthew 5:44
In order to truly LOVE others we must first LOVE ourselves!
"Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself." - Matthew 19:19
So I ask you again, do you truly LOVE?

Elder's Meditation of the Day - April 14, 2003
"The base of all things is love, respect."
The greatest weapon of any Spiritual Warrior is love. Love will change minds; love will forgive; love will let go; love will cause good luck; love will heal; love will cry; love will get rid of resentments; love will overcome fear. Love loves love. Any human who is loving will be guaranteed respect. Respect loves love. We need to love and respect ourselves.
Grandmother, Grandfather, today, lead me on the path of love.
