STANDARDS FOR MEMBERSHIP IN LOCAL TFTA CHAPTER
A student should strive to become a recognized scholar in his/her school.
2. DESIRE
A student should be genuinely interested in exploring teaching as a possible career and in gaining a better understanding of educational system.
3. SCHOOL
A student should be worthwhile members of the student body. Students should, through FTA, strive to obtain a better understanding of the educational process from a teacher’s as well as a student’s viewpoint. Members, through their understanding of the educational system, should have a positive role in student-teacher relations in their school. The local chapter should also work to improve their school systems and serve where their services are needed.
4. COMMUNITY
Students should strive to be a responsible citizens, and through their activities in FTA, work for a better community. The student should also have a positive role in school public relations.
5. ATTITUDE
A student should display an attitude of cooperation, integrity of character, and willingness to work.
6. ATTENDANCE
A student should attend all functions and take part in most projects of the local chapter to remain a member.
7. DRESS
Students should dress neatly and in good taste according to school policies at meetings and functions.
8. DISCIPLINE
Any student who is involved in constant discipline problems or who is truant will be removed from the chapter.
9. GRADES
A student who is failing a subject should be put on probation for six weeks or until his grades are brought up.
