George Kracht, 71, of Honalo, died Feb. 7 at Kona Community Hospital. Born Dec. 27, 1930 in Niagara Falls, N.Y., he was a retired electrician. He served 22 years in the Navy and also served as mayor of Wyoming, N.Y. In 1973, he and his family moved to Honolulu and moved to Paradise, Calif. in 1985 until he retired in 1993. He attended Kapiolani Community College in Honolulu and was a former member of Chefs de Cuisine in Honolulu, Elks and Lutheran Church of the Holy Trinity.
Friends may call 5 p.m. Sunday at Lutheran Church of the Holy Trinity, Kailua-Kona for a memorial service. The family requests casual attire and memorials are suggested to Lutheran Church of the Holy Trinity.
He is survived by fiancee, Elaine Weaver of Honalo; sons, Michael Kracht of Yokosuka, Japan and Kevin Kracht of Cedar Park, Texas; daughters, Dawnelle Kelley of Chico, Calif. and Kristen Blackburn of Oakley, Calif.; brother, Kenneth Kraft of Millsboro, Del.; sister, Kathryn King of Fort Meade, Fla.; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

George married Miss Evelyn Ricketts, daughter of Mr. Orville Ricketts and Miss Gertrude M. McClellan, on 2 Feb 1951 in Niagara Falls, N.Y., USA.
