JANUARY, 2006:
For the most part, January was a perfectly LOVELY month!
On the 5th, my young niece ANNA (Drew & Annabeth’s child; 11 y/o then – 12 y/o now) got her FIRST HORSE: BREGO! [For those of you who don’t recognize the name (FIE on YE!), BREGO is the horse who rescued ARAGORN and brought him to Helm’s Deep in the Lord of The Rings, The Two Towers movie.]

MARCH, 2006:
YEARS ago, I met CAROL while playing BRIDGE online. Carol lives in LIVERPOOL, England, but traveled to meet Susan & I in LONDON, in 2002! Then, during my 2003 UK trip, I stayed at CAROL’S HOME in LIVERPOOL! While there, I promised that, if Carol ever came to the USA, I would MEET her wherever she visited.
SO, when Carol Emailed me in late 2005, telling me she had DIVORCED JOHN and was taking a LAS VEGAS HOLIDAY in March of 2006, I HAD to MEET HER there!
Thankfully, I happened to have an “old friend” who LIVES in Las Vegas! I met Dr. Ruby Rexene Worrell (a Forensic Pathologist who owns and operates a Private AUTOPSY Service) when we worked together as Denver General PARAMEDICS in the early 90’s!
[Obviously, Ruby went on to much BIGGER and BETTER things after leaving DG! LOL]
When I contacted her, Ruby graciously invited me to stay at HER HOME during my March 5th to 12th Las Vegas trip.
I only spent ONE AFTERNOON with Carol. During the rest of my week there, I had a FANTABULOUS time with RUBY! We did TONZ of “catching up” (I hadn’t seen her since 1999!). We also attended TWO (of the SEVEN) Cirque du Soleil shows in LV: KA and ZUMANITY!

Being a PART of the MGM’s public Casino area, the Lion Habitat is ENTIRELY FREE to visit!
It is approximately THREE STORIES tall … it is constructed of 1-and-½-inch-thick “ONE-WAY” Plexiglas on three sides … AND, the Habitat is HERMETICALLY SEALED!
This means that the Lions cannot SEE you, and the Lions cannot SMELL you. So, they often come RIGHT UP to the glass. Since YOU also can go RIGHT UP to the glass, there are plenty of times that the lions are only
1-and-½-inches away from you! Oh, my Gawdess!!! It is soooo KOOL!!!
Even MORE KOOL: The Lion Habitat NURSERY is right next to the Lion Habitat Gift Shop! On the day I visited, they had TWO Lion Cubs hanging out there. That’s where I took MY pic: A sweet little Lion cub, sound asleep on her back – RIGHT UP AGAINST THE PLEXIGLAS!
Oh, YEAH! I was in Kitty HEAVEN!!!

APRIL, 2006:
Myne parents, Carol & Ray, drove their RV to Houston to visit with Steve & Fandamily before setting SAIL
from the Houston port on April 22nd (Ray’s BIRTHDAY!), for a 33-day CRUISE, followed by 3 days in
LONDON, before flying back to Houston. (A 37-Day Trip in all!)

where we were able to have lunch and a visit with my old Air Force Band Buddy, Joe Geremia & his wife. Next, we sailed to Bermuda, the Azores, then Dublin and Waterford Ireland.” |
MAY, 2006:
In early 2006, myne baby bro, Steve, accepted a VICE PRESIDENT position with “Mo’s Restaurants” – a Milwaukee-based company that has SEVERAL restaurant concepts. STEVE’S JOB: to generally improve their current restaurants’ operational practices, as well as to spear-head NEW restaurant openings. (So far, Steve’s helped them open THREE new restaurants, including one in Houston!)
ONE of MO’s restaurant concepts is Mo’s Irish Pub. Being the SLY DAWG that he is, Steve took a
“Business Trip” to IRELAND. (HEY! He needed photos of Irish Pubs to adorn the walls of MO’s Irish Pubs!)
By sheer COINCIDENCE (yeah … RIGHT), Steve arrived in Ireland just in time to
SurpriZe Mom & Dad when they disembarked for a day of touring DUBLIN on MAY 7th!
In DECEMBER, 2006, Ray & Carol were "Immortalized" on the WALL of the Wauwatosa, Wisconsin MO’S IRISH PUB!

After leaving Ireland, Ray & Carol cruised to La Havre France, sailed the Kiel Canal to Warnemunde (Berlin) Germany, sailed the Baltic Sea to Tallinn Estonia, St. Petersburg Russia, Helsinki Finland, Stockholm Sweden, Copenhagen Denmark, and finally were DUMPED OFF the ship at Dover, England.
THEN, they were bussed to a LONDON Hotel, & LEFT THERE – on their OWN – for THREE days!
I wasn’t specifically ASKED to come “take care of them” in London!
But, Mother heavily HINTED that she’d like me to DO THAT.
So, Whathehell?! I arranged to take a trip to the UK in 2006!
Happily! My Las Vegas friend, RUBY REXENE, wanted to COME WITH ME!
So, Ruby & I met Ray & Carol in London, then squired them around the city for 3 days.

Of ALL the hotels in London, Ruby just HAPPENED to book us into one that was only TWO BLOCKS away from the hotel Ray & Carol ended up in!!! Too flippin’ WEIRD – but VERY convenient!

Ruby and I took off for another TEN DAYS of touring England and Scotland!
