On Tuesday, July 11, Dad was honored by the Nebraska Choral Directors Association!

“11 years after my retirement, I was entirely surprised to receive
the Cornell Runestad Award for
‘Lifetime Dedication to Choral Excellence in Nebraska’!”

Oh, what FUN! Two of my High School friends – Janet & Denise – turned 50 in 2006 … AS DID I!!!
Sooooo, we decided to have a COMBINED 50th Birthday Party.
Since we wanted a “tropical” party theme, but all of us were born in COLD months,
we selected August 26th to have our:
“Hawaii FIVE-OH Party!”

On September 16th, several Ren Friends & I attended the Kansas City Ren Fest.

In September I was brought to Philadelphia to testify at a restraint-asphyxia-related Trial. Happy ME! I arranged to extend the trip by several days (the 21st – 28th), so I could VISIT with Aunt Dot & Uncle Itchy, Lynn & Al Desimone, & my COUSINS!

OCTOBER, 2006

Eventually, I’ll have to create a REAL WEBPAGE about
The DOROTHA CANFIELD FOOT STOOL SAGA!
On it, I’ll explain the story of how my Grandmother (Dorotha) was MURDERED …
how the Foot Stool she needlepointed in 1931 was HIDDEN from sight since Mom was 2 years old
(Mother has NO MEMORY of EVER seeing this needlepointed Foot Stool!) …
and how a family friend (Bless You, MARION!!!) RESCUED IT from an Antique Store for us!!!

For NOW, suffice it to say that Marion DID rescue it! And, between October 15th & 17th, Dad & I finally managed a ROAD TRIP to Grand Junction, Colorado, to visit Marion and pick it up. [The Foot Stool is currently undergoing “conservation” work in OMAHA. So, the REAL webpage will also feature pix of it after it has been “REPAIRED”!]

While in Grand Junction, we had a SPECTACULARLY WONDERFUL visit with Marion Jacobson & Jim Bennett … as well as with Hugh & Jackie Bigum!

Amazingly enough, Dad & I didn’t KILL EACH OTHER during the trip! Nor did we suffer any terrifically untoward EVENTS during the trip. [In spite of my failure to bring appropriate FOOTWEAR for a Colorado Trip! LOL]
