"... $67 is all you need to inspire your Scouts and honor your Scouters ... John Ryan receives no compensation for this opportunity"

John Ryan  (BIO)  has been conducting this program for 2 years and has received rave reviews from the Scouts, rave reviews from Scouters/Parents and has found that it energizes the creative minds of our Scouts in a way that they can "write" BSA 100th Anniversary history. Whether a Scouter is a "significant contributor" with 5 years service or a Scouting Legend, the unit or organization can decide to authorize the honor. Each patch could be done using templates or Scouts create a patch recognition through an Art Merit Badge format that the Scouts themselves participate in the design. Click Here For Examples of Both

Significant Scouter or
Worthy Scouter Honoree Examples

There are so many lifelong and dedicated Scouters, deceased or living, who have given of their time, their money and their dedication without any hint of reward or recognition. What a fine way to show appreciation and have your own Scouts become the instrument of writing their work into BSA 100th Anniversary lore!

Do you know of a Significant Scouter who may not have the longevity but has exhibited the drive to make your Scout unit or organization a fine example of Scouting within a short period of time. What a fine way to show appreciation and have your own Scouts become the instrument of writing your Scouters work into BSA 100th Anniversary lore!

Patch Designer Credentials

Inspire participation and recognize Scouters! There are many more that I have designed but here are a few samples of the patch issues I've produced ... from Unit, District, Council Committee, OA, Philmont Contingents, Regional and specialized religious tour. (John Ryan  BIO)

  • 1998 Cub Scout Retreat 7 Patch Cross
During their 5 year Cub Scout career, boys and adults can attend the annual retreat and "build" a 7 patch Cross. The base of the cross is the "Cathedral" patch that resembles the 100+ year old St. Patrick's Cathedral for the Diocese of Ft. Worth.

  • 2009 NCCS Conference Region X Host Patch Series

  • 2006 Eagle Court of Honor Gift: 172 Eagles and Counting

  • Patch L
Patch L is a nationwide online community of Boy Scout Memorabilia Collectors who discuss Scout patches, pins, etc. that have been issued since 1937 to present day. Since I’ve hosted an annual Scout Memorabilia Show (fund raiser) called the Lone Star Trade O Ree for over 10 years, many of these attendees can attest (See Comments) to my integrity. During this annual swap meet, I've given away 100's of patches each year to young Scouts. If you’d like to visit with any of the veteran attendees, I can provide a contact list.

  • Troop 32 and Longhorn Council Friends
With over 10 years activity in Order of the Arrow Lodge 489, over 8 years activity in the Diocesan Religious Awards Committee, and 20 plus years as a member of Longhorn Council Troop 32, I have a multitude of Scouts and Scouters who can speak to my volunteer efforts in providing unique opportunities to our Scouts. See my Scout BIO for inter - district, inter - council and regional opportunities I’ve provided Scouts and Scouters. People may ask why I've launched this effort ... my one and only true focus is how to inspire our Scouts; much like my first Scoutmaster (John Edward "Ole Man" Gillespie). The greater we inspire our Scouts to follow the principals of Scouting, the better our world will become ... and now is the perfect opportunity during a celebration that will be like no other - the BSA 100th Anniversary!

John Ryan receives no compensation for this opportunity.
Cost for providing this website is $150 a year.
I provide this website as a tribute to my first Scoutmaster and mentor,
