  • 2007 Ad Altare Dei Tour involving Scouts and Scouters from 20 Scout Units which left Ft Worth (Tx) and took a 7 day trip through Santa Fe (NM), Los Alamos (NM), Philmont Scout Ranch and Amarillo, Tx.

  • Membership Chairman of Diocesan Catholic Comm on Scouting for Diocese of Ft Worth (2007-2009)

Adult Scouting Innovations

  • Created, recruited, marketed and launched unprecedented 2007 Ad Altare Dei Tour
  • Created, recruited, marketed and launched unprecedented 1998 Diocesan Catholic Cub Scout Retreat. Our program has since been taken to 5 other Boy Scout Councils for adoption.
  • Created, marketed, and launched The Lone Star Trade O Ree fund raiser to benefit local Scouting programs. It is now in its 17th year and has benefited scouts from 20 different units.
  • Wrote, produced and directed documentary video of 1998 Catholic Cub Scout Retreat as a vehicle to promote event to units that were not sponsored by a catholic institution.
  • Wrote, produced and directed documentary video of Philmont Cavalcade, Philmont Kanik and Philmont Trek adventures as a vehicle to promote mountain trips to local scout units.

  • Quoted in February 2009 article in Columbia Magazine (1 million readership). Picture published.
  • Authored 5 articles from 2007 - 2009 published in North Texas Catholic, The Texas Knight, The Shield and eBridge
  • Major contributor to Longhorn Council History Book entitled, "Our Longhorn Council: The First 75 Years"
  • Author of "A Pious Moment." A History of Catholic Scouting within the Diocese of Ft Worth. Hardbound work containing 125 pages, over 70 pictures and a roster of every known religious awardee within the Diocese of Ft Worth since the 1940's.
  • Author of "Herein Lie Treasures of Boyhood Adventures." A History of Troop 32 from 1927 to 2002. A hardbound work containing 150 pages, over 100 pictures and a roster of every known member since 1927.
  • As a boy from 1977 - 1980, author of PR Announcements for various Scouting events that were published in the North Texas Catholic, The Interim Knight, and The Grapevine Sun.

Knights of Columbus
  • KC and Scout Chairman of Troop 32 65th Anniversary, 70th Anniversary and 75th Anniversary celebrations that included KC dignitaries from the District and State.
  • Knight of the Month (March 1997)
  • Designed a Boy Scout Neckerchief with the likeness of St. Patricks Cathedral (seat of diocese) and placed "K of C" on it to promote the Knights
  • 3rd Degree Member of KC Council 759
  • Assisted in Scout leadership of annual KC # 759 Memorial Day Mass honoring veterans at Old Calvary Cemetary in Ft Worth, Texas. Led Scouts as SPL, as Altar Server, and color guard for over 10 years.
  • Held several KC offices while member of Council # 799 in Houston, Texas.
  • Author of articles published in Council 759 newsletter regarding scout activities for over 5 years
