The Truth Path of
Righteousness: Have You Forgotten?
an Article
By R.S. Neaville
This is more of a plea than it is an article. It
is a plea for those who call themselves Christian to consider their ways. As we look
around us we see the world disintergrating in morality and virtue. We who are to be the
light to this world and the salt to preserve it have fallen headlong as a majority in the
same excess of riot; the same lack of character and morality we have been warned of by
Holy Scripture. We have as a majority lost connection to our head. We who are to be
supernatural examples of love and unity and Ambassadors of Christ are shown to be nothing
more than mere men.
Haggai1:4. Is it time for you, O ye, to dwell
in your cieled houses, and this house lie waste?
5. Now therefore thus saith the Lord of hosts; Consider your ways.
6. Ye have sown much, and bring in little; ye eat, but ye have not enough; ye drink, but
ye are not filled with drink; ye clothe you, but there is none warm; and he that earneth
wages earneth wages to put it into a bag with holes.
7. Thus saith the Lord of hosts; Consider your ways.
Matthew5:13. Ye are the salt of the earth: but
if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for
nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.
14. Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
15. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it
giveth light unto all that are in the house.
16. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify
your Father which is in heaven.
1Peter 4: 2.
That he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but
to the will of God.
3. For the time past of our life may suffice us to have wrought the will of the Gentiles,
when we walked in lasciviousness, lusts, excess of wine, revellings, banquetings, and
abominable idolatries:
4. Wherein they think it strange that ye run not with them to the same excess of riot,
speaking evil of you:
5. Who shall give account to him that is ready to judge the quick and the dead.
Ephesians4: 11.
And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors
and teachers;
12. For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of
the body of Christ:
13. Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God,
unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:
14. That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with
every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in
wait to deceive;
15. But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head,
even Christ:
1 Corinthians 3
1. And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even
as unto babes in Christ.
2. I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it,
neither yet now are ye able.
3. For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and
divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men?
4. For while one saith, I am of Paul; and another, I am of Apollos; are ye not carnal?
5. Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers by whom ye believed, even as the
Lord gave to every man?
6. I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase.
7. So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that
giveth the increase.
We hold the form of religion but deny its power to change us, to brings together in unity
and we give in to the world and its ways because we know nothing of the true power of God.
We have forgotten as a majority that we wrestle not with flesh and blood and that the true
weapons of our warfare are not carnal. It is not by any carnal eye that we see, nor
any carnal ear that we hear, nor by any carnal mind that we solve our problems. It is not
our own strength we are to walk in nor is it the will of the flesh that is to rule us.
What can carnal scholarship provide in the way of spiritual truth? what can these fleshly
fights and arguments do to bring us to a unity of the spirit? What can homosexual bishops
teach us? Where does our own darkened reasoning and pragmatism lead us? What political or
psychological device or entity add to the revelation of Christ? how can a division or
denomination save us? What Man , science, or organisation can stand as our mediator, our
high priest before God?
2 Timothy
3
1. This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
2. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers,
disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
3. Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce,
despisers of those that are good,
4. Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
5. Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
6. For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden
with sins, led away with divers lusts,
7. Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.
Ehesians 6: 10. Finally, my brethren, be
strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
11. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the
devil.
12. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against
powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in
high places.
2Corinthians 10: 3. For though we walk in the
flesh, we do not war after the flesh:
4. (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling
down of strong holds;)
5. Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the
knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
1Corinthains 2: 9. But as it is written, Eye
hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which
God hath prepared for them that love him.
10. But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things,
yea, the deep things of God.
John1: 12. But as many as received him, to
them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
13. Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man,
but of God.
14. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory
as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
1Corinthians 1: 18. For the preaching of the
cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of
God.
19. For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing
the understanding of the prudent.
20. Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not
God made foolish the wisdom of this world?
21. For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God
by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.
22. For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom:
23. But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks
foolishness;
24. But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the
wisdom of God.
25. Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger
than men.
1 Corinthians 2
1. And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom,
declaring unto you the testimony of God.
2. For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified.
3. And I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling.
4. And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in
demonstration of the spirit and of power:
5. That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.
6. Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are perfect: yet not the wisdom of this world,
nor of the princes of this world, that come to nought:
7. But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained
before the world unto our glory:
1 Timothy 2
1. I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and
giving of thanks, be made for all men;
2. For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable
life in all godliness and honesty.
3. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;
4. Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.
5. For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;
6. Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.
Hebrews 2: 17. Wherefore in all things it
behoved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful
high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the
people.
18. For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that
are tempted.
So we see by the great cloud of witnesses
that the truth of our lives..our Gospel , is based on the Power of God.. We must hear is
voice, we must submit ourselves to him..we must submit our thinking to him. we must put
him first in all we do. We were bought with a price. We must pray together, and we
must enter in to that communion our Lord Jesus has provided us through his own body and
blood. For it is his righteousness, his power, and his resurrection we must clothe
ourselves with. He is the Garment we put on that covers our nakedness..our shame.
Knowing God and Jesus is Eternal life..Not what we think we know carnally. We must by the
Spirit learn to love one another. this is the only path. and it is a supernatural one
dependant of God..and not ourselves.
Hebrews 12
1. Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us
lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with
patience the race that is set before us,
2. Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set
before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of
the throne of God.
3. For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be
wearied and faint in your minds.
4. Ye have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin.
Hebrews 3: 7. Wherefore (as the Holy Ghost
saith, To day if ye will hear his voice,
8. Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the
wilderness:
James4:4. Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know
ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a
friend of the world is the enemy of God.
5. Do ye think that the scripture saith in vain, The spirit that dwelleth in us lusteth to
envy?
6. But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace
unto the humble.
7. Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
8. Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and
purify your hearts, ye double minded.
1Corinthians 6: 19. What? know ye not that
your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye
are not your own?
20. For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your
spirit, which are God's.
John17: 2. As thou hast given him power over
all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him.
3. And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus
Christ, whom thou hast sent.
4. I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to
do.
Galatians 3: 26. For ye are all the children
of God by faith in Christ Jesus.
27. For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.
Revelaton3:18. I counsel thee to buy of me
gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be
clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with
eyesalve, that thou mayest see.
2 Corinthians 5
1. For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a
building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.
2. For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed upon with our house which is
from heaven:
3. If so be that being clothed we shall not be found naked.
4. For we that are in this tabernacle do groan, being burdened: not for that we would be
unclothed, but clothed upon, that mortality might be swallowed up of life.
1Corinthians 15: 52. In a moment, in the
twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be
raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
53. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on
immortality.
54. So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have
put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is
swallowed up in victory.
55. O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?
1 John 3: 14. We know that we have passed from
death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in
death.
15. Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal
life abiding in him.
16. Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought
to lay down our lives for the brethren.
17. But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his
bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him?
18. My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in
truth.
So Jesus is our
answer still..he is the holy way..He is the way the truth, and the Life..He is the Path
itself..Have you forgotten that this way is the only way? that he himself is the
Resurrection? That we are called to walk in Spirit and power? Ask your self.....have you
forgotten?
John 14: 6. Jesus saith unto him, I am the
way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
7. If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know
him, and have seen him.
John 11: 25. Jesus said unto her, I am the
resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he
live:
26. And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?
Romans1:3. Concerning his Son Jesus Christ our
Lord, which was made of the seed of David according to the flesh;
4. And declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by
the resurrection from the dead:
5. By whom we have received grace and apostleship, for obedience to the faith among all
nations, for his name:
James 1:22. But be ye doers of the word, and
not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.
23. For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding
his natural face in a glass:
24. For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of
man he was.
2 peter1:3. According as his divine power hath
given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of
him that hath called us to glory and virtue:
4. Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might
be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world
through lust.
5. And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue
knowledge;
6. And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness;
7. And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.
8. For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be
barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
9. But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath
forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.
10. Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure:
for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:
11. For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting
kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
Amen
