A
Prophecy of the Church : The Latter Day House
By R.S. Neaville
In the Days when Babylon came against Judah, they were
taken captive into Babylon for seventy years, because of sin they were taken into
captivity. Seven, or seventy is a completed work, or figurative of a time when God is
establishing a work. God did not change his mind. God's people and the temple articles of
worship were taken into Babylon and dispersed through out the land.
In this presesent time we may take this for an Allegory, a
prophetic picture of our time. Christianity (God's People) was indeed taken into captivity
for a time , dispersed through out Babylon (False religion, man's religion) We have split
into many didvisions when Christ is not divided. The time has come now, even as it was
with Judah, for the captivity to end. God is telling his people to "Come out of her
my People" and he has raised up Cyrus the King ( figurative of Christ) to send
us back into the land, along with the temple vessels of worship. (Apostles,
prophets, etc. Gifts of ministries)
Our captivity to babylon is over. it is time to build
God's House.
IIChronicles 36:16.
But they mocked the messengers of God, and despised his words, and misused his prophets,
until the wrath of the Lord arose against his people, till there was no remedy.
17. Therefore he brought upon
them the king of the Chaldees, who slew their young men with the sword in the house of
their sanctuary, and had no compassion upon young man or maiden, old man, or him that
stooped for age: he gave them all into his hand.
18. And all the vessels of
the house of God, great and small, and the treasures of the house of the Lord, and the
treasures of the king, and of his princes; all these he brought to Babylon.
19. And they burnt the
house of God, and brake down the wall of Jerusalem, and burnt all the palaces thereof
with fire, and destroyed all the goodly vessels thereof.
20. And them that had escaped
from the sword carried he away to Babylon; where they were servants to him and his sons
until the reign of the kingdom of Persia:
21. To fulfil the word of the
Lord by the mouth of Jeremiah, until the land had enjoyed her sabbaths: for as long as she
lay desolate she kept sabbath, to fulfil threescore and ten years.
22. Now in the first year
of Cyrus king of Persia, that the word of the Lord spoken by the mouth of Jeremiah might
be accomplished, the Lord stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, that he made a
proclamation throughout all his kingdom, and put it also in writing, saying,
23. Thus saith Cyrus king
of Persia, All the kingdoms of the earth hath the Lord God of heaven given me; and he hath
charged me to build him an house in Jerusalem, which is in Judah. Who is there among you
of all his people? The Lord his God be with him, and let him go up.
Ezra1:
7. Also Cyrus the king
brought forth the vessels of the house of the Lord, which Nebuchadnezzar had brought forth
out of Jerusalem, and had put them in the house of his gods;
8. Even those did Cyrus
king of Persia bring forth by the hand of Mithredath the treasurer, and numbered them unto
Sheshbazzar, the prince of Judah.
9. And this is the number
of them: thirty chargers of gold, a thousand chargers of silver, nine and twenty knives,
10. Thirty basons of gold,
silver basons of a second sort four hundred and ten, and other vessels a thousand.
11. All the vessels of gold
and of silver were five thousand and four hundred. All these did Sheshbazzar bring up with
them of the captivity that were brought up from Babylon unto Jerusalem.
We are returning to the land, coming
out of babylon ( the religion and traditions of men, Denominations) Many though
instead of Building God's house, ( The Church of Christ ) have built theeir own houses. (
There own ministries, own ideas,) They have left the Lord's house a ruin. hear now what
the prophet Haggai says to them, and so us today:
Haggai 1: 3. Then came the word
of the Lord by Haggai the prophet, saying,
4. Is it time for you, O ye,
to dwell in your cieled houses, and this house lie waste?
5. Now therefore thus saith
the Lord of hosts; Consider your ways.
6. Ye have sown much, and
bring in little; ye eat, but ye have not enough; ye drink, but ye are not filled with
drink; ye clothe you, but there is none warm; and he that earneth wages earneth wages to
put it into a bag with holes.
7. Thus saith the Lord of
hosts; Consider your ways.
8. Go up to the mountain, and
bring wood, and build the house; and I will take pleasure in it, and I will be glorified,
saith the Lord.
It is not time build our own
ministries, and houses, but rather to Build God's house, which is the bride, his people.
Not buildings or orgs. He counsels us to go into the mountains ( heavenlies by prayer and
supplication) and bring dow the material that God will give us to build with. (It is
spiritual because his body is spiritual.) We are told now by the Lord to consider our
ways. We eat of the word of God, but do not have enough . there is a famine of bread on
the land( GOD'S WORD). We drink but do not have our fill. (We drink of the spirit but
never deeply). We are clothed , but not warm. (our clothing is our own righteousness, whis
is as filthy rags. We must be clothed by God , in the righteousness of Christ.)
Hag.1:12. Then Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and Joshua the son of
Josedech, the high priest, with all the remnant of the people, obeyed the voice of the
Lord their God, and the words of Haggai the prophet, as the Lord their God had sent him,
and the people did fear before the Lord.
13. Then spake Haggai the
Lord's messenger in the Lord's message unto the people, saying, I am with you, saith the
Lord.
14. And the Lord stirred up
the spirit of Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and the spirit of
Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest, and the spirit of all the remnant of the
people; and they came and did work in the house of the Lord of hosts, their God,
15. In the four and twentieth
day of the sixth month, in the second year of Darius the king.
Glory will come back to this House,
this Latter day temple.Zerubbabel and Joshua are figurative of the the Law and The Prophets
These are the two olive trees that
stand before the Lord of the Whole earth. They are two anointings of ministry that
the Lord will place on two men in the Last days. They are the two witnesses of Revelation 11:
3. And I will give power
unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and
threescore days, clothed in sackcloth.
4. These are the two olive trees,
and the two candlesticks standing before the God of the earth.
5. And if any man will hurt
them, fire proceedeth out of their mouth, and devoureth their enemies: and if any man will
hurt them, he must in this manner be killed.
6. These have power to shut
heaven, that it rain not in the days of their prophecy: and have power over waters to turn
them to blood, and to smite the earth with all plagues, as often as they will.
7. And when they shall have
finished their testimony, the beast that ascendeth out of the bottomless pit shall make
war against them, andshall overcome them, and kill them.
With these two , Glory and honer and
power , and a holy fear of the Lord will return with authority to the latter day temple,
God's Church.
Haggai 1: 12. Then Zerubbabel the
son of Shealtiel, and Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest, with all the remnant of
the people, obeyed the voice of the Lord their God, and the words of Haggai the prophet,
as the Lord their God had sent him, and the people did fear before the Lord.
13. Then spake Haggai the
Lord's messenger in the Lord's message unto the people, saying, I am with you, saith the
Lord.
14. And the Lord stirred up
the spirit of Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and the spirit of
Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest, and the spirit of all the remnant of the
people; and they came and did work in the house of the Lord of hosts, their God,
Zerubabel is Govenor, like the king,
Joshua is the priest. Priest and King relate the Law (king) and prophets (Priest) The king
for the physical, earthly, the priest for the spiritual, heavenly. together they make a
full revelation. The Law and prophets always testified to Jesus, who is priest and king
forever after the order of Melchezidek.
Zechariah speaks also of the two
witnesses., and identifies them propheticly as Zerubbabel and Joshua. We know that Moses (
the law) and Elijah(the prophets) were the first two men to have these two anointings.
See below study. Also we now know that John the Babtist had the anonting of the
prophets and that paul the Apostle had the anointing of the law. So in the last days, two
others will have these same two anointings of the law and the prophets. Tho we do not yet
know them, we call them figuratively Zerubbabel and Joshua. Zecharia and Haggai prophesy
this.
Law and The Prophets
Zechariah 3
1. And he shewed me Joshua
the high priest standing before the angel of the Lord, and Satan standing at his right
hand to resist him.
2. And the Lord said unto
Satan, The Lord rebuke thee, O Satan; even the Lord that hath chosen Jerusalem rebuke
thee: is not this a brand plucked out of the fire?
3. Now Joshua was clothed with
filthy garments, and stood before the angel.
4. And he answered and spake
unto those that stood before him, saying, Take away the filthy garments from him. And unto
him he said, Behold, I have caused thine iniquity to pass from thee, and I will clothe
thee with change of raiment.
5. And I said, Let them set a
fair mitre upon his head. So they set a fair mitre upon his head, and clothed him with
garments. And the angel of the Lord stood by.
6. And the angel of the Lord
protested unto Joshua, saying,
7. Thus saith the Lord of
hosts; If thou wilt walk in my ways, and if thou wilt keep my charge, then thou shalt also
judge my house, and shalt also keep my courts, and I will give thee places to walk among
these that stand by.
8. Hear now, O Joshua the high
priest, thou, and thy fellows that sit before thee: for they are men wondered at: for,
behold, I will bring forth my servant the Branch.
9. For behold the stone
that I have laid before Joshua; upon one stone shall be seven eyes: behold, I will engrave
the graving thereof, saith the Lord of hosts, and I will remove the iniquity of that land
in one day.
10. In that day, saith the
Lord of hosts, shall ye call every man his neighbour under the vine and under the fig
tree.
Joshua, the symbol for the last day
prophet who has the spirit or anointing of the prophets, is seen in Zecharia as associated
with a foundation stone of the latter day temple. ( the church) The seven eyes are
figurative of the angels of the seven churches in revelation. Zechariah goes on to speak
of the two witnesses in detail:
Zechariah 4
1. And the angel that
talked with me came again, and waked me, as a man that is wakened out of his sleep.
2. And said unto me, What
seest thou? And I said, I have looked, And behold a candlestick all of gold, with a bowl
upon the top of it, and his seven lamps thereon, and seven pipes to the seven lamps, which
are upon the top thereof:
3. And two olive trees by
it, one upon the right side of the bowl, and the other upon the left side thereof.
4. So I answered and spake to
the angel that talked with me, saying, What are these, my lord?
5. Then the angel that talked
with me answered and said unto me, Knowest thou not what these be? And I said, No, my
lord.
6. Then he answered and
spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the Lord unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might,
nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the Lord of hosts.
7. Who art thou, O great
mountain? before Zerubbabel thou shalt become a plain: and he shall bring forth the
headstone thereof with shoutings, crying, Grace, grace unto it.
8. Moreover the word of the
Lord came unto me, saying,
9. The hands of Zerubbabel
have laid the foundation of this house; his hands shall also finish it; and thou shalt
know that the Lord of hosts hath sent me unto you.
10. For who hath despised
the day of small things? for they shall rejoice, and shall see the plummet in the hand of
Zerubbabel with those seven; they are the eyes of the Lord, which run to and fro through
the whole earth.
11. Then answered I, and
said unto him, What are these two olive trees upon the right side of the candlestick and
upon the left side thereof?
12. And I answered again,
and said unto him, What be these two olive branches which through the two golden pipes
empty the golden oil out of themselves?
13. And he answered me and
said, Knowest thou not what these be? And I said, No, my lord.
14. Then said he, These are
the two anointed ones, that stand by the Lord of the whole earth.
We see now that not only are the two witnesses spoken
of here, and in relation to the church ( the seven) but we also see Zerubbabel is one who
also lays a foundation for the House (the church) of God. The latter day temple. Even as
Moses ( the Law ) laid a foundation for the Church in the wilderness, And Paul( the Law)
was a master builder, so laid a foundation of which Christ is head of the Corner, so we
see Zerubbabel in the same Light. The is speaking of the latter day temple, and
spiritually, the early church is the first temple. The Latter temple must be built on the
same foundation as the first .( foundation of the Apostles and prophets).
Haggai 2:
2. Speak now to Zerubbabel the
son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest,
and to the residue of the people, saying,
3. Who is left among you
that saw this house in her first glory? and how do ye see it now? is it not in your eyes
in comparison of it as nothing?
4. Yet now be strong, O
Zerubbabel, saith the Lord; and be strong, O Joshua, son of Josedech, the high priest; and
be strong, all ye people of the land, saith the Lord, and work: for I am with you, saith
the Lord of hosts:
5. According to the word that
I covenanted with you when ye came out of Egypt, so my spirit remaineth among you: fear ye
not.
6. For thus saith the Lord of
hosts; Yet once, it is a little while, and I will shake the heavens, and the earth, and
the sea, and the dry land;
7. And I will shake all
nations, and the desire of all nations shall come: and I will fill this house with glory,
saith the Lord of hosts.
8. The silver is mine, and
the gold is mine, saith the Lord of hosts.
9. The glory of this latter
house shall be greater than of the former, saith the Lord of hosts: and in this place will
I give peace, saith the Lord of hosts.
So as the two literal temples had to be built on the
same foundation, so the two spiritual temples must also be built on the same Foundation. (
The early church and the Latter day Church)
It will be built and glorious in the time of the Great
tribulation ( 3&1/2 years) when God shakes the nations, the time when these two
prophets shall testify:
Revelation 11:
3. And I will give power
unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days,
clothed in sackcloth.
4. These are the two olive trees,
and the two candlesticks standing before the God of the earth.
So it will be in these last days. the
house of God will again be lifted up, and seen by the world, as it was in its beginning.
God is going to again establish authority in his church.
