These are examples of computer-manipulated, black-and-white, high-contrast photos of trees that I shot on April 25 and 26, 2010 in the wooded areas around where I live. Some of them are alive, others have fallen. I like the resulting stark light-and-shadow patterns that nature has created--they almost look like really good ink illustrations in this format. Originally I intended for the photos to be used as reference images for sculpture/drawings and/or as background graphics for web page designs (like this one), but, after fooling around with them in an art program, I think they have artistic merit all by themselves.
