Phantom

1994 Mustang Stallion

-Demon-

Demon is a very funny horse! He's almost always happy and has LOVES foals. He was born on a ranch but you would never know it, since the people didn’t have much time for any of there foals, they just left them out to pasture for years. When Demon hit the age of two, he was put in a corral so that he wouldn’t be able to breed any mares in pasture but yet he was left there and no one did anything with him. By the age of four he was not halter broke and had a wild spirit growing worse and worse. Well then the people decided to do something with him but by that time Demon wanted nothing to do with them. So every time someone would try to buck him out (get on him and ride him so hard that he couldn’t buck anymore), he would stop dead making them fly over his head or his favorite was a stop and then turning one way then the other. He was become quite the stallion.

At the age of six he was sold, the owners wanted nothing to do with him because was not ride able. At a bronc auction he was sold to a new owner who had great hope for him. Demon was sent to rodeos expected to be one of the greatest broncos alive not only because of his attitude but his breed as well. Again this stallion proved them wrong, he wouldn’t buck every time someone got on his back sometimes he would just charge and sometimes he would just spin not bucking at all. This disappointed everyone and he was sold for 300 dollars to Freedom Acers.

Also another part that I'm not going to talk much about is that in his small rodeo carrier he met a mare named Flare who had the same problem as him. They became very close and were sold to the same farm.

At Freedom Acers the owner took great pride in the mustang pair. She first halter broke both by dallying them up to two horses (kind of like a cross tie), and pulling them around the yard until they realized that pulling against the pressure made life harder. Then Flare became pregnant and the training stopped there for her but Demon kept on going.

He is currently green broke, yet he likes to give out a buck every once an awhile, the hard and long training on the ground has done him so much good. Though sometimes horses cannot be broken no matter how much time and effort you put in them like his full brother Badger .Badger is one of the leading broncos at the moment and will stay that way; maybe someday Demon will be a pickup horse in a rodeo and will run alongside his brother.
