Fullmetal Alchemist

"Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is alchemy's first law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world's one, and only, truth."

Two boys, Ed and Al Elric lost their mother at an early age. Afterwards, they trained hard in alchemy, trying to get better. They eventually tried to do a human transmutation to bring their mother back to life, but it ended in peril. Ed lost one of his legs, and Al, his body. In desperation, Ed was able to attach Al's soul to a suit of armor at the cost of one of his arms.

Now, the two boys journey to find a way to restore themselves to normal. Along the way they'll meet many friends and enemies, and experience pain, death, tears, and laugher.

Name: Alphonse Elric Race: Human soul trapped in armor Age: 14 years old Height: 6'0" feet

Other important characters:
Winry Rockbell - Childhood friend of Ed and Al. Built and maintains Ed's auto-mail.
Pinako Rockbell - Winry's grandmother. Took in Ed and Al after their mother's death. Expert in auto-mail.
Roy Mustang - Colonel in the military. He is the Flame alchemist.
Riza Hawkeye - First lieutenant. Specializes in firearms.
Maes Hughes - Lt. Colonel. Close friends with Mustang.
Major Alexander Armstrong - The Strong Arm alchemist. Incredibly muscular, always flexing and showing off.
Scar - Known as Scar to the military because of scar on his face. Seeks to destory all state alchemists.
