Sesshoumaru is Inuyasha's older half-brother who is a full demon. His
mother
was a demon, unlike Inuyasha's who was a human. Sesshoumaru is cold and
distant, and does not like humans. He dislikes Inuyasha because he is
half
human, and because he fell in love with a human (Kikyo) and ended up
getting
sealed to a tree when Sesshoumaru needed him to help with a war.
For a while, his objective is to get Inuyasha's sword, Tetsusaiga.
Their
father left them both swords which were made with his fangs. Inuyasha's
is
meant to kill demons and protect humans, and Sesshoumaru's Tenseiga is
meant
for bringing people back to life. Sesshoumaru wants Inuyasha's sword
because
he thinks Tenseiga, which cannot hurt anyone, is useless.
The only human he accepts is Rin. Rin is a little girl who tended to
him
when he was injured. Her parents were killed by wolf demons.
Sesshoumaru
used his sword, Tenseiga, for the very first time in order to bring her
back
to life when she was killed by demons. After that, she began traveling
with
Sesshoumaru and his servant, Jaken.
