Recently, my doctor put me on the Pill. Not for contraception reasons (although it has come in handy) but to regulate my periods and to help with the pain. This was a last resort. There are many bad things associated with the Pill that I was scared of. And even though when I went on the Pill I was kind of excited, I was scared out of my mind.

The Pill makes me feel strange. It makes my body feel alienated and full of something fake. Which is of course, the fake hormones, but it makes me feel like I'm not entirely me. The Pill works best if you take it at the same time everyday, which I don't entirely remember to do, which is okay as I don't use it for contraception, but if I did, I'd be screwed...heh literally.

I'm scared of the side effects. I am absolutely petrified. The Pill can make you fat which scares the hell out of me, as while I am not fat, in fact I am underweight, I put on weight very very easily, so to make sure I don't get fat I started exercising the day I went on the Pill, and now I exercise 4 days a week. So far, my weight hasn't changed.
The Pill can give you acne, depending on what type. The type I'm on right now is meant to get RID of acne so I'm hoping that I'll be ok as I've never really had spots before and I'll die if they start.
Migraines. I can't stand headaches and I get them so often....I had one really bad migraine while taking .Microgynon., the pain was unbelievable, I'm hoping these stop! Unfortunately when I went to switch Pills, I had to see a different doctor to my normal one who told me that the migraines were normal, then wanted to put me on .Microgynon 50.! THAT would've just increased the chances of migraine...however I changed his mind and he eventually gave me a script for .Diane-35 ED.

Anyways, the first Pill I tried, is .Microgynon 20 ED. (the ED stands for everyday, the 20 means there is 20mg of ethinylestradiol in the Pill). This Pill isn't right for me. I spot too much (menstrual type .bleeding. when you don't have your period). I start to spot on my 5th last day of taking the Pill, and when I'm wanting to take packs back to back (this is explained in .Pill Info and Types.), I can't spot, or what's the point? This means I need a higher dose. Higher dose means more risk of bad things, and more possible fatness, urgh all this badness.......

I'm now on .Diane-35 ED. I've only just started out, but I don't feel as crap as I did when I was taking .Microgynon.. When I was taking .Microgynon., the first few nights, it felt like something was caught in my throat. I'd also get chest pains, like stabbing ones when I breathed. Right now I haven't experienced any side effects from .Diane-35 ED. at all. Maybe it's the right one for me!! Except, I must warn it is awfully expensive compared to the other Pills. .Microgynon. works out to be about $7 a month, while .Diane-35 ED. is about $20 something a month.

I'll update this more after my first cycle of .Diane-35 ED., and anytime I have to take a different reasons so you can see first hand what the Pill can do to a person, but remember, everyone's different, so my side effects may not happen to you.
