The Opening Ceremony, May 12, 2003
The Connecticut chaperones enjoying the pre-ceremony dinner, which consisted of fried chicken and weird sides. I tried to pretend to be a vegan, or someone who only ate kosher, because their meals were better, but you needed a special "Vegan Card" to do that.
The Opening Ceremony was hosted by two radio guys, both of which rode into the hall on motorized bikes. One of them began to play a guitar. He then tried to amuse us by throwing prizes at our heads. It must be hard to get smart kids to do stupid things.
The Cleveland School of Dance did two numbers in the ceremony as well.
Here's the unveiling of the Family Feud set-up which had been hidden behind a curtain.
Alex, one of the members of the first panel, was asked to "Name a rodent".
The Technologists' panel included the Intel CEO
