The Wavebird controller is Nintendo's official wireless controller for the GameCube. A receiver plugs into the system's controller ports. Dials on both the receiver and controller are set to a matching channel number, allowing the receiver to pick up signals from the controller.
The Wavebird Wireless controller runs for about 100 hours on 2 AA batteries. It includes an on/off swtich to preserve battery life when not in use. Additionally, unlike Standard controllers, the Wavebird does not include a Rumble Feature, to allow the battery life to last longer.
The controller can be used about 20 feet away from the receiver, and works regardless of where you are in a room.
Colors available are Grey and Platinum.
