Painslave Biography

The roots of Painslave began in 1999 in South Bend, Indiana with Nick Annis (Bass, Back Vocals)
and Chad Porter (Guitar). After working with several other musicians, Neil Herceg (Vocals) joined in
2001 and a year later Marc Johnson (Drums) to become permanent members.

Painslave bring together a new breed of Metalcore with thick detuned guitar, punchy low-end
style bass. The vocals are of their own style and the backing growls accent this new diverse way.
Painslave take influence from Death Metal, a bit of Punk, and older style Hardcore.

Painslave values diversity in music. They write material that is heavy and still maintains melody
and dynamics. The music and lyrics are motivated by experiences in their lives as well as some of their
own personal beliefs and values. Opposition to self-destructive social values, venting the frustration of
the atrocities that impact their lives, and a release of emotion are what drives Painslave's music. A true
sense of self-expression in a very positive element.
