"Project Writers Unite"
Readers Theater Society
Project Writers Unite is constructing of a Reader's Theater Group called the Project Writers Unite Readers Theater Society (PWURTS).
We are looking for a core group of 5 men and 5 women who will be charged with the duty performing staged and unstaged readings of plays, films, and other works from new writers from around the Bay Area; as well as, performing at our tri-annual "Coffeehouse Reading Series".
Specific Responsibilities
- Performing at The Coffeehouse Readings
- Participating in PWU sponsored readings of local writers in a special series of individual readings
- Coaching/Mentoring new writers in the arts of performing at our Performance Workshop
- Participating/Representing PWU in other events that the group takes part in
Some prerequisites will include:
- Must be able to handle a cold read
- Must be able to play multiple characters
- Must be able to work on little or no rehearsal
- Musst be open to reading diffent types of material
- Must be reilable, dependable, and flexible
- Acting experience is good but not a mandate
- Must be able and willing to commit to the readings assigned (there will be one in the summer and winter, and a possible one in the fall)
- Must be willing to do this as a volunteer (We will have professionals in the field of Theater as well as other Fine Arts group that we will recommend you to; as well as other possible uses for you in our group)

We will be having interviews/auditions until we get a core group of 5 men and women. However, we will also hold interviews/audition throughout the run of this program.
