Article on D.D Warrior Lady - vs. - Exiled Force
Spirit Reapers look at
The Battles of
Monster Removal
With every new set comes new
monster removal, meaning new strategies and new deck themes. A lot of people
change with the times, while others swear by their trusty older cards. Who is
right? Neither, it just depends on how smart the player is. First things
first, lets look at our first card, Exiled Force...
LOD-023
Exiled Force
Warrior/Earth/Effect/3/1000/1000
Offer this face-up card on your side of the field as a Tribute to
destroy 1 monster on the field. If this card is used for a Tribute Summon or
this card is offered as a Tribute due to other cards' effects, this card's
effect is not activated.
Super Rare
This
card gets a LOT of play, and there is no surprise there. Like I mentioned in a
former article, I consider this card a staple. It is the fastest and easiest
for of monster removal in the game. It doesn't matter what deck you use, it
will be slightly better with an X-Force. Let me start on some of its
abilities. Its obvious effect is simple, get rid of this card to destroy
another monster on the field. Yea, that's nice, but how is it any better than,
lets say, Man Eater Bug? First off, it is a Multi-trigger effect, meaning you
can use it on your opponents turn. Due to its spell speed, you can chain it to
anything but a counter trap. Lets say your opponent plays Mirror Force, just
sac this monster to pop off a threat monster on your opponents field. Chain it
to an attack, a magic card, or even another monster effect. Not a bad deal if
you ask me...
Pros:
Easy and effective monster
removal
Warrior (I smell a Marauding
Captain combo)
Super Rare (Not easy to find, not hard to find)
Multi-trigger effect (Chain this
baby to damn near anything)
4 star
Combo with all monster recursion
(monster reborn, etc.)
Cons:
Low attack
Cant't attack under G-Bind for
such a low attack
No point in beefing it up for
attack, its going to get sacked anyway
Restricted to 1
Now, lets take a look at the next card, D.D. Warrior Lady
DCR-027
D. D. Warrior Lady
(Light/Warrior/4/1500/1600)
When this card battles another monster, after Damage Calculation you can remove
the opponent’s monster and this card from play.
Super Rare
This card is so much more different than Exiled Force, but for some reason people seem to say they are so much alike. Well, they are both monster removal, they both have killer effects, and they will both see a lot of play. Let me explain her effect in a little more detail. She has to attack, or be attacked for her effect to work. This hurts her, because this makes her wide open for all other monster removal such as Nobleman of Crossout, Raigeki, Dark Hole, etc. The monster in battle with her is removed from play as well as this card. It is a good effect, and at the same time, a bad effect. The good side is you can keep your opponents Jinzo form coming back. The bad side is you can use monster recursion on her, meaning her effect is a one time only deal. Also, she is effected by battle damage. This means is if she is in attack mode and gets hit by a Gemini Elf, then you get hit with 400 damage (unlike Exiled Force where you can chain its effect to the attack, destroying the monster before damage calculation). Her attack and defense is much better than Exiled Force, but it is still way to low to just throw her in and start attacking.
Pros:
Removes opposing monster from the game
Super Rare (Not easy to find, not hard to find)
Will probably lose a LOT of trade value after about a month (easier to get)
Warrior
4 star
Cons:
Removes itself from play
Must be in battle to use effect
Low attack
Cant avoid Nobleman of Crossout or Ha Des
Now on to my conclusions. Exiled Force will now and always be a great card. There will not be a card that can even compare to it coming out anytime soon (Tribe Infecting Virus doesn’t count). It is a STAPLE. Any deck should run it, unlike D.D. Warrior Lady. Yea, her effect is good, but it has to many flaws in it. To be as effective as Exiled Force, you would have to run 3 D.D. Warrior Ladies to even come close to the power of X-Force. This time I’m going to have to say that Exiled Force is a much more effective and versatile card than D.D. Warrior Lady. D.D. is still a good card that will see some play, but it falls WAY short of X-Force.
