Naru is Keitaro's love interest in Love Hina. More often than not, she ends up punching Keitaro in Love Hina. She thinks of Keitaro as nothing but a typical pervert in the earlier episodes. In the end, she ends up falling in love with Keitaro and wanted to go to Tokyo University with him.

Naru also has a younger stepsister called Mei Narusegawa. Mei tries to ruin everything for Naru so that Naru would leave Hinata Inn and return home. However this only reinforces the relationship between Naru and Keitaro.

Naru is portrayed as an emotionally [and also physically in my opinion] strong woman. She is also very beautiful [heck.. everyone in Love Hina is, anyway] and often attract the other species' attention. She also has a beautiful voice [kudos to Yui Horie, Naru's voice talent] and aspires to be a singer in one of the episodes. Her best friend, Kitsune, is constantly trying to do her best to make Naru happy.
