Gyro Style Throttles

Most gyroplane throttles are located down near the seat.   The throttle on a gyroplane is in constant use as a major control source and requires quick responses.  While the throttle is not constantly jockeyed in a fixed wing, the advantages of having it in a natural position could be quite handy in a fixed wing as in most cases your left hand would always rest on the throttle.

Here are a few pictures.

This is a double pulley located just below the left hand.  Notice it uses two cables.  I used the old cruise control point on the engine to locate a redundant cable.  You can also see this on the next picture of the engine hook up.  Also notice the nylon block with a thumb screw on top.  This allows the fiction tightening to keep the throttle from creeping during flight.

These two pictures show the pilot side throttle in the up position and then the down position.  This allow you to get in and out without getting stuck in the rear.

This next picture is the co-pilot throttle on his/her right side.  Notice it is pinned for easy removal as is the co-pilot control stick.  It also lays down for easy access.
