Cokebottle- A game of wits
and reflexes
Everyone has played one variant or
another of "keep object X up in the air"... ususally a balloon as a kid...
Now, it's reached the apex of gaming
glory... in the form of
COKEBOTTLE
Requirements:
1 Coke Bottle (no pepsi bottles, that's an unacceptable substitution)
2 or more players
An indoor environment where people don't care about loud rebound sounds
OR a large person to kick the shit out of anyone who complains
Rules of Play:
Start the game by saying Fizz and hitting the bottle into the air. A player
my hit it as many time as he or she wants though passing is encouraged. No
holding the bottle or cradling of any kind. Each contact must be a hit or
a scoop. A scoop occurs when the bottle hits the ground. As it falls a player
may yell scoop and toss it up into the air before it comes to a final rest
on the ground. Only the player who yelled scoop may do this. Botching a scoop
that you already called is very bad form.
Terms:
If the bottle begins spinning wildly causing the player to miss, it's called
"nasty nips"... nips being spin backwards. Watching as the bottle hits
the ground without calling scoop
or even trying to recover it is called "pulling an Alec" One who successfully
scoops the bottle many times is called "Steve"... reguardless of his or her
real name. After the bottle is no longer in play, it is said to have
gone flat.
