OUR CORALS

This is our newest specimen.  Its commonly known as a Moon Coral, but it belongs to the Favia family.  It glows with iridescent green with just the actinic lights on.  There are two Barnacles living amongst the polyps on the left hand side.  Each polyp has a separate mouth that needs to be fed.  Talk about have a lot of mouths to feed!

Next is our Open Brain Coral, Trachyphyllia Geoffroyi.  It is one of the most interesting creatures in our reef.  Bellow are some picture of it with it's feeding tentacles out, and glowing under the actinics.  It has two mouths on its oral disk and can completely cover itself over with its outer flesh.

Feeding Time.

What planet is this from?

Here is our Pear Bubble coral.  From the family Caryophylliidae, probably Genus Physogyra.  It never completely opened after we put in our tank.  The one section remains tightly closed up, I'm not sure if its going to make it.  Its pretty neat though, it has 1/2 inch long feeding tentacles that come our at night.

These two pictures are of our Frog Spawn, Euphyllia Divisa.  The first picture is with the Halide off, and the second is with it on.  The true colour is somewhere in the middle.  Nice coral though.

Finally, we once again end with the first.  Here is our huge Colt Coral, its either a Cladiella or a Alcyonium, both are similar.  It has grown so huge and so fast, We are planning on Fragging it before it gets too big.

We also have a single green and pink striped mushroom in our reef.  We are hoping it will spread are grow a colony.  We believe it is a Actirodiscus Striata, but refer to it as a watermelon mushroom.
