Welcome to the Realm of Neldoreth
Presentation
The name Neldoreth itself comes from the mythology of Tolkien: The Forest of Neldoreth, a great Beech-forest in Beleriand in Fourth Age belonged to the realm of Thingol and Melian and covered the Northern half of the Kingdom Doriath on the banks of the River Esgalduin (The Silmarillion); called Taur-na-Neldor in Treebeard's song in The Two Towers. Here was Lúthien born to Melian and Thingol, and here Beren, escaping through Dungortheb, later came upon Lúthien. "To the beeches of Neldoreth I came in the Autumn. Ah! the gold and the red and the sighing of leaves in the Autumn in Taur-na-neldor!." (Fangorn)
Note about the picture "By moonlight in the Forest of Neldoreth"
"On his flight before the dark servants of Morgoth, Beren enters Doriath, the Hidden Kingdom. Wandering in the summer in the woods of Neldoreth he came upon Lúthien, daughter of Thingol and Melian, at a time of evening under moonrise, as she danced upon the unfading grass in the glades beside Esgalduin. Blue was her raiment as the unclouded heaven, but her eyes were grey as the starlit evening; her mantle was sewn with golden flowers, but her hair was dark as the shadows of twilight. As the light upon the leaves of trees, as the voice of clear waters, as the stars above the mists of the world, such was her glory and her loveliness." (Source to come yet...)

The Shooting Schedule of Production on "The Lord of the Rings"
Between October 1999 and December 2000 has been Peter Jackson directing the shooting of a more than nine-hours movie, "The Lord of the Rings", with more than 30 Lead Actors and many hundreds of extras. This adventure led them to the beautiful locations of the magnificent country of New Zealand : mountains, rivers, plains, caves, forests, hills...
There were 274 days of shooting, scheduled in a very complicated way, due to the weather, the disponibility of the actors, the set-constructions (and sometimes unplanned destruction by the nature) etc.
This schedule is only an attempt to get an idea of the massive work thats been done on this great movie and the passion involved in this project.

The Geeky Movie Details
Goal is to gather details from the films that stand out to us as poignant, book-related, or simply outstanding in their uniqueness. the list DOES NOT include bloopers, mistakes, inconsistencies, continuity problems or negative/nitpicky items. After the fantastic work that's been done on these films, I really don't want to focus on them. That's for someone else to do!
