The Secret of the Sea
The quiet sigh of the open Sea
Is heard very loud by a girl like me;
She lies exposed to the searching moon,
But will not divulge her world too soon.
The surface lies so open and clear,
And bares the things she holds so dear;
But underneath lie hidden things,
Delicate creatures with broken wings.
The smiling orb that lives in the sky
Hears that sigh even louder than I;
It can see the secrets hidden so well
That deep inside the sea do dwell,
Slowly it brings them to pale light,
Breathing the deep air of the night.
