\BRAVES GET FIRST WIN OF THE YEAR IN SHUTOUT OVER FOOTHILL, 14-0

TEHACHAPI NEWS - If you missed the second quarter of Friday’s junior varsity football game you missed all the action, at least the scoring as Braves can-do man Jeff Waldram scored twice to put the Braves up 14-0.

After a scoreless first quarter the Tehachapi High School junior varsity football team scored first on Waldrum’s one-yard run. Braves Pat kicker, quarterback and punter Ehran Ochsenrider kicked the PAT for a 7-0 lead.

Later in the second, Braves QB Ochsenrider connected with Waldram on a 10 yard TD pass. Ochsenrider added the PAT for what would become the final scored of the game, 14-0. Ochsenrider finished the game completing three of seven passes for 20 yards.

The Braves were called for 45 yards in penalties in the second half limiting the THS offense to just four yards rushing in the third quarter.

Tehachapi rushed for 225 on carries be Jeff Waldrum, 10 for 45 yards, Derek Lange, eight for 73 yards, Joey Montez, 11 for 45 yards and Gabe Naboa, four carries for 32 yards.

The Braves benefited from good defensive field position when forced to punt thanks to the boot of Ochsenrider who logged one 52-yard punt in the game.

The Braves are scheduled to open for the Warrior Friday at Stockdale. Game time is 5 P.M.
