INDIANS NOTCH WIN #2 ON THE YEAR, 34-16
TEHACHAPI NEWS - Robert Sigmund and Ryan Dalmas both had two touchdowns apiece in the Indians 34-16 rout over the Roughriders.
Tehachapi’s Brennan Davis opened up the Indians first drive with a long run from scrimmage, and Jesse Olofson put the exclamation point on with a four-yard run to put the Indians up 6-0.
“We needed some momentum going into league,” said Indian head coach Chris Olofson. “The Stockdale loss was tough but I think our guys rebounded well from that and put on a good performance (this past week).”
Other runs came from Dalmas on a two yard run, Sigmund on a one-yard touchdown reception from Dalmas, Sigmund on a muffed punt fumble recovery for a score, and Daniel Baquerizo on a five-yard run. Dalmas finished the afternoon 7-8 passing for 86 yards and a touchdown, while Brennan Davis had 48 yards and Jesse Olofson 41 yards rushing. Sigmund had four catches for 47 yards and a score.
On Defense, John Cramer had 13 tackles and Andrew Howell had 12 takedowns.
Tehachapi will open up their league schedule this week with a road game against Taft.
“Taft will be a very tough game,” added Olofson. “They beat a pretty good South (Bakersfield) team and they had a one-point win over Frontier (Bakersfield), so we’re expecting a challenge.”
