TEHACHAPI NEWS - Led by a wing-t rushing onslaught that netted 370 yards and 19 total first downs, Tehachapi (3-2) spoiled Roosevelt’s homecoming and ended their pre-league schedule with a 41-7 blowout victory.

After forcing a Roosevelt (0-5) punt on a three-and-out to start the game, Tehachapi took their first possession at their own 25 yard line. Grinding out the clock and logging five first downs overall, the Warrior frontline punished the Roosevelt defensive front in a march to the end-zone, which was capped by a two yard run by Gabe Bressler. After a Stefan Bekker extra point, Tehachapi was on top, 7-0.

The Warriors recorded two more touchdowns in the second quarter, one on a 16-yard Bekker run and another on a Franky Rodriguez 29-yard pass and catch from Levi Lantz. After two more Bekker extra points Tehachapi extended their lead to 21-0 heading into the locker room.

Tehachapi recorded their fourth touchdown of the night on a Louis James 25-yard run, which would end up being James’s final carry of the night in a 134 yard rushing performance along with the score. Sophomore Josh Strauss tacked on another third quarter score on a 36-yard jaunt, and Ehren Ochsenrider tacked on the extra point for a 34-0 lead.

After the Roughriders scored at the start of the fourth quarter, the Warriors recorded their final score of the evening on a Franky Rodriguez 13-yard run and Ochsenrider extra point for the ending 41-7 tally.

Tehachapi’s defense was relentless on the evening, relinquishing only 74 total rushing yards, sacking the Roosevelt quarterback seven times.

The Warriors will open up their league schedule with a big game against Taft (4-1) on the road. Taft is coming off a win against Horizon-San Diego 41-17. Kickoff will be at 7:30 p.m this Friday night.
