When Quinn gets up from the table only seconds before the chandelier (that Jake had hastily installed), crashed down onto her chair, she comes to the conclusion that she has a guardian angel watching over her.
Weanwhile, Brittany gets a C- on something and her wonderful father decides to throw a party in her honor. And guess who the featured band is.
Quinn has a few more “near tragedies” and becomes convinced that her guardian is a young male, resulting in three very jealous Js. Daria thinks that this is all just ridiculous (what else is new?) and doesn’t fancy attending the party, but Jane winds up convincing her to go anyway (a plot strangely reminiscent of “The Invitation”)
While there, Quinn spills soda on her pants, then breaks Mr. Taylor’s gift to his daughter –an imitation crystal megaphone (even though they kept calling it a bullhorn). She comes to the conclusion that her angel has abandoned her and goes to moping around a bit, but a heart-to-heart with OH (?!) convinces the dingbat that she isn’t anymore alone than she was before, and she’s back to her shallower self by the next morning.
Yay! Mystik Spiral is back! Trent shows a little more brainpower that he has for a while, and almost comes across as intelligent next to the rest of the Spiral. There are a few good lines, it was a good plot, and it’s good to see that Daria is still human, but they could have done so much better with it. I give it a four mostly because it made me think.
