Psycho Therapy

It's Helen's turn to go to the company retreat - a spa for the soul - as her bosses think that she could very well be partner material; however, they want to see her "wearing all three hats" - business woman, wife, and mother - before they make their decision.

Meanwhile, Jane is busy starting a webpage called JaneCam. The slogan is "All Jane, all the time. Except naked time." She basically has an ICQ camera rigged up to the Internet. Though it seems like an okay idea at the time (::snort::), she has to take it down after only receiving eight hits (three of which were Daria), because she gets a rather unflattering shot of Tom's backside right about the time some inmates surfed by. You can imagine that he wasn't too happy when he saw his fanmail.

Anyhow, the Morgendorffers arrive at the retreat and go through several different sessions with psychologists from various different backgrounds. Jake and Helen finally get the marriage counseling they need so badly, but unfortunately the counselor didn't seem to be quite qualified enough to deal with their problem. Another psychologist comes to the conclusion that Daria is very well adjusted "considering...", and Ms. Johansen makes her first appearance since "That Was Then, This Is Dumb", wherein Quinn teaches her of the slimming qualities of vertical stripes.

But, the episode really picks up in the third act when they attend family therapy and do a little role-playing.

Coincidentally, this episode first aired the day my professor gave her lecture on Treating Psychological Disorders. Unfortunately, this meant that I spent most of the episode trying to figure out which form of therapy they were using. Anyhow, the role-playing really made the episode. Jake and Helen had each other down to a tee and I really came to appreciate them more after everything was said and done.
