Mystic Spiral gets a gig way out of town, and get Jane to go with them as the designated driver. She soon gets pulled over for speeding and driving while operating her video camera (brilliant!), and all five of the get taken to jail.
Jane then calls Daria, who had, coincidentally, just gotten her driver’s license, plus her parents were out of town, to come and bail them out. Quinn insists on coming along, and at one point even took the wheel (“What do you think people do on dates?”), and picked up a “cute” hitchhiker.
When Daria pulls over to get gas, Quinn sees an outlet mall nearby, and it doesn’t take too much imagination to figure out what happened to the bail money. They earn the money back at a truck stop, where Quinn (complete with cowgirl outfit) has to dance while Daria sings a Hank Williams song. Finally, the duo gets it together and bail Mystik Spiral and Jane out.
Highlights include Quinn’s cowgirl outfit, Jane’s conversation with the cop, Max’s cries of “He’s gonna beat me with that stick!”, Daria’s driving techniques, and best of all, the cake.
Well, the plot really sucked, but every paragraph I write, I remember some of the good parts, so it worked its way up from two stars to three-and-a-half.
