In the beginning of the episode, Brooke, a rather plain Fashion Club wannabe, comes to school sporting a new nose job, which everyone says is just fabulous. However, when Quinn says that it’s cute, Sandi pounces on the situation for its potential in making Quinn look bad, and claims that Quinn’s remarks were shallow and uncaring. Sandi’s plan works, and everyone gets mad at Quinn. This convinces her that she needs to get plastic surgery to regain her popularity (even though she didn’t become unpopular), so she goes to the nurse, pleads cramps, and gets excused for the day, but not before insisting that Daria take her home.
It soon becomes very apparent that Quinn has no intention of going home, so, with Daria in tow, she heads to the office of Dr. Shar, a plastic surgeon who looks like she’s had a bit too much surgery herself. Shar proceeds to inform Quinn that for $6,000 worth of plastic surgery, she would look just great, and that, for $20,000, she could make Daria look just like Quinn. When it is fairly obvious that Daria has no intention of taking her up on her offer, Shar gives her a pair of “training boobs” so she can “try them out”.
The next day at school, Daria and Jane scare Upchuck away with the fake breast implants, and Quinn tries to start a collection to pay for her surgery, but fails miserably, managing only to collect money from Upchuck to rent the fake boobs for the weekend.
Daria finally attempts to convince Quinn that she doesn’t need plastic surgery, as she is perfect already, but Quinn is not consoled until the next morning, when she learns that Brooke’s new nose caved in and the fat she had had injected into her top lip slipped down into her bottom lip.
