Hallowed Be Thy Name

Sermon by Dr. Bob Benchoff, July 11, 2002

..."you shall call his name Jesus"...--angel of the Lord to Joseph.

Visitor to this site you are blessed! In the moment you chose to seek that which is hallowed, your spirit agreed with the Holy Spirit. In the reading of hallowed information, you receive that which is hallowed about you, within you.

The angel of the Lord further explained to Joseph ..."you shall call his name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins." (Matthew 1.21).

The name of Jesus Christ is hallowed. Hallowed because it is ordained from heaven and because of the good works of Jesus Christ. If you want to do that which is hallowed toward having a good name for the greater glory of Jesus Christ, have faith in Jesus Christ. Also, save your people from their sins.

To do this you must first remove the log from your own eye, to remove the splinter from their eye. To do this, read The Book of Mormon, 3 Nephi Chapter 24 verse 8, for the solution.

There once was a man that thought he was hallowed because he was told Christ was within him. So that man did as he pleased, selfishly, wrecklessly (including murdering), and without remorse.

Practically speaking, Christ was no more in that wreckless man than Christ was in an animal. The kingdom of heaven abounds, yet that man chose to not recognize heaven's goodness. (see also Exodus 20.7).

There once was another man who came out of Nazareth, from Egypt, and originally from Bethlehem in the land of Judea. Jesus was his name, the son of Mary and Joseph (the son of Jacob).

Jesus was interesting. As a child, wise men and doctors wanted to hear what he had to say. As an adult, he healed the sick, raised the dead, and helped the blind to see. He lead the people spiritually, and had mercy on the merciful.

When Jesus was on the cross he was told to save himself if he was the ..."Son of God"... (Matthew 27.40). What they hadn't understood was that Jesus had saved his people and was therefore himself saved. Yet in their moment of uncertainty, questioning, requiring, demanding he come down from the cross for a sign to them, they were perhaps at the closest point in their selfishly beckoning earthly lives at understanding of a certainty and knowing Hallowed Jesus Christ, in name, and in works.

When Jesus Christ said hallowed "be thy name" before and again after his crucifixion (Matthew 6.9 and Book of Mormon page 434 verse 9), he spoke of the Father within us.

Jesus spoke of that which is our heritage through Jesus Christ, and that heritage is Hallowed. Sacred, a blessing, the greatest benefit ever conceived; it is in Jesus Christ for us. The Father of all creation, the Hallowed Lord of lords and King of kings is for you so who can be against you?

Even so, you were given a choice, so you can be for you, or you can be against you.

You have the power (Acts 1.8) and you can act quickly (even as quickly and as soon as yesterday) through Hallowed Jesus Christ because Hallowed Jesus Christ is eternal, timeless, the creator of time (Genesis 1.1, John 1.1, and Revelation 3.14).

Be hallowed, believe on Jesus Christ and remove the log from your eye to see clearly to help others for the greater glory of God Almighty.

Hallowed be the name of Christ Jesus.
