Pain Removal

Sermon by Dr. Bob Benchoff, June 5, 2002

Motivation is key. What would you do for Jesus Christ if your pain was removed?
Pain comes from many sources, and God has provided many tools to deal with the pain. Focusing on Jesus Christ helps the mind move from reactionary to proactivity. Instead of tactics, strategies can be used to begin the healing process.
A large rock can be used as a tool to grind wheat into flour. If that rock is resting on your foot, that's another matter. You can eat bread made from the flour, but a rock on your foot that causes pain is more important to you because it is more personal. Your survival is important to you.
You are motivated by survival instinct. Pain is personal and so you react. Non-Christians, even animals and bacteria do the same. So by earthly terms you might get out of pain and survive.
But you can do more: far more. You can do greater things. You can reach far higher. You can achieve much more if you choose Jesus Christ first; and act according to what pure, honest, good, and Holy Jesus Christ teaches.
Even scientists have figured out how to lift materials with a beam of light, so just imagine what Jesus Christ, Lord and Maker of all, can do.
Is the pain even about you? Is the pain for you or is the pain for others?
If the pain is for you, it may be a warning to steer clear of permanent damnation. Or it could be an opportunity to improve your situation by leaps and bounds. You might lose a customer causing you to hone your skills and to become more reliable. You might lose a loved one, and gain motivation to become the good part of what they represented. You might lose a foot and then be motivated to invent a cell regeneration application.
If your pain is for someone else, such as in child bearing, then it may be time to think less about yourself, and more about them and what they're enduring. Child bearing can severely hurt the mother. But what would you think if someone told you to squish your head and shoulders and leave the only security and nourishment you've known?
Jesus Christ sends us out as sheep among wolves. Why? Because you're fit and ready for it. You're anxious to be with God Almighty! Deep inside, you want God to be able to depend on you. Trust and power are yours in God's eyes through Jesus Christ!
Power to walk among wolves, power to walk with God, your power God entrusts to you, is all a free gift from God to you through Jesus Christ.
If you are leading a hiking trip and a rock falls on your foot, perhaps it is to show your followers how to properly deal with it. After all, they just lost their leader (you, because of your accident) and are lost in the wilderness with the added burden of carrying you and all may perish. So, instead of cursing, you might ask them to concentrate on Jesus Christ and work together to immediately roll the rock away.
The prayers of the righteous are not unheeded, (Ref. Sermon on Stomach and Bone Marrow Cancer Cured). Also, because miracles [or employment, money, power, success, or charity...] should follow you, preferably to you following them, (Ref. Sermon on Abortion), God has given you the advantage of many tools.
To coin a term, *Yeis**, meaning God within you, allows you to work with your Godly tools, for instance by the laying-on of hands to help and heal someone in the name of Jesus Christ. Yeis allows you to use your God given talents for good. Even if that involves pain, Yeis finds or is about the good in all circumstances, groups, or activities. Similarly, one can be optimistic even in the face of adversity.
You can have faith in Jesus Christ even when pain is involved. This is not to indicate that you should wrongly seek wreckless pain for self-serving purposes, but that you should seek first the Kingdom of Heaven and the path of Jesus Christ and pray to God through Jesus Christ in constant praise.
Yeis allows people to build new Zion, with people serving as God's tools on earth. Yeis allows you to control your own destiny according to God's will for you. And that will is core to your personal needs for existence. So pain can be controlled, overcome, and extinguished per Yeis.
Some people find it a pain to go to work Monday morning; Yeis can overcome that too. This is not to excuse laziness, but rather to fulfill the pleasures of doing God's work, overcoming associated pain. Thereby you grow, build, and develop and take-on even greater challenges and overcome and reap greater rewards in Jesus Christ now via Yeis.
Some people can't wait to get into heaven, while other people can hardly fathom the grace and mercies that abound: Yeis.
What if God gave you a tool for removing your pain and you didn't use it? Rarely, there might be a good reason. Take for instance food sacraficed to idols, or of an unknown source. Such a tool normally used for nutrition could cause more harm than good due to subverted intentions. Yet these can be overcome per Yeis.
A missionary once went to a largely unexplored region of the Amazon to teach of Jesus Christ. She told me that she thought the foods eaten by the natives were disgusting, but for them rather than thinking of herself, rather than offend them, she ate those things they offered her. She found that those foods weren't so horrible, and she got over her pain of the horrific foods through her sacarafice of herself, following Jesus Christ. I believe that she now feels that her sacarafice has enriched her life, and the lives of those she reaches.
Tools for removing pain abound. God gave you tools having good values. God gave his word freely, as noted in the Bible, and as with other good and Holy communications. God also has given Yeis tools. Furthermore, if your pain is psychosymatic and a placebo cures you, that's not so bad. Perhaps there are deeper meanings to it, perhaps not; after all, your spirit is energy and so pain.
Magnets have been used to remove pain, and just because their magnetic fields may not turn a compass, that does not mean they are void of good.
Hypnotherapy has been used to remove pain.
Vitamins, such as Vitamin B; aspirin; and oxygen (aside from a lack of Vitamin E related detrimental oxidation) can remove pain.
Water, heat, and cold have been used to remove pain.
And sometimes it's just a matter of getting a good night's rest.
Chiropractors re-align backbones and nerves to remove pain.
One especially interesting pain removal method deals with removal of dross in the body. The technique of pressure pointing lymph glands has been used by many, including author Bonnie Pruden (no affiliation unless otherwise stated).
If you have pain, ask yourself how you can benefit others from that, so their burden is lightened.

Because there is one God, the creator of all and source of all existence and activities, and because there are various subgroups among entities, such as people, places, or things, the word Yeis is proffered, such as to substitute for such popular phrases as "God within you" or "the Kingdom of Heaven is within".
Yeis = God within you.
my Yeis = God within me.
our Yeis = God within us.
his (or her) Yeis = God within him (or her).
their (plural) Yeis = God within them.
the Yeis = God within all.
it's Yeis = God within it.
[Note: the coining of this term is patterned after a combination of the teachings of Jesus Christ (see John 1:42, 8:15, 8:23, and 16.14) and the teachings of California University of Pennsylvania and / or Eberly International University Professor Minnick who coined the term "urb*", meaning any grouping of people].
