Chapter 1: In the morning

Missy, Xena, Joey, Dana, Janine, Salina, Annie, and Mac were waiting for their friend Raven to arrive at school.  Mac was getting impatient.  " She better hurry her ass up."  Finally, Raven's bus came and people came pouring out of it. She walked up the hill to meet her friends.  She looked at Salina.  " Is he here yet?"  Salina smiled. " I haven't seen him." Raven sighed and followed her friends just to walk around.  Then the bell rang.  Raven and Salina had the same 1st period together, so they walked together to their class which was State Requirements.  They sat side by side and on Salina's other side sat their other friend Kayla.  Behind Raven, sat her enemy Corey
who always pestered her.  Today they were learning about how to take care of children.  Raven and Salina sat there as bored as ever.  Today was a block day, which meant 2 hours of this boring torture.  Finally, the bell rang and they ran out of the class.

Chapter 2:  The big surprise

Raven and Salina went up to their friends. Their other friend Heather was sitting with Daniel, Raven's ex - boyfriend.  Raven looked at her.  " Do you want to go look for him?"  Heather shook her head.  " At lunch." Raven nodded.  After the break bell rang, Janine, Raven, Salina, and Mac went to Choir.  As Raven and Mac walked in, they saw Mr. Miller, the special ed teacher and beside him was the guy Raven had a crush on, Clinton.  The girls found their places and Raven and Mac started to laugh.  Mr. Hjelmervik looked at them and they quieted down.  He smiled.  " Today we are having guests to hear us sing.  This is Mr. Miller and Clinton."  Raven smiled as Clinton looked her way.  She knew he wouldn't notice her for anything in the world. After Choir was done with, they all had lunch. Raven had to get all her stuff in her backpack, so she told Salina, Mac, and Janine to go on without her. Clinton was still in the room.  She finally got all of her stuff put away.  She finally left the class with Clinton on her mind.

Chapter 3:  Strong Words

Heather and Raven went searching for Clinton at lunch.  They found him sitting alone in a corner.  Mac was with them as well.  Heather told them to go away. Then Heather came storming out of where Clinton was and they followed her.  Finally, Heather stopped and sat down.  Raven sat beside her. " What's wrong?" Heather looked at her.  " He says he doesn't want any friends.  It's a waste of his time."  Heather walked off.  Raven got mad too.  She began to cry as Clinton walked past her.  He stopped and looked at her for but only a moment before approaching her with a smile.

Chapter 4:  The Meeting

Clinton stopped a few inches in front of her.  He kept on smiling.  She just let her tears fall.  He touched her shoulder and left.  She was going to follow him, but Mac pulled her back. " Leave him alone."  Raven nodded.  They walked over to Dana.  They saw Mr. Miller walk by.  He walked over to Raven.  He handed her a piece of paper.  " This is for you."  He left. Raven opened the note and read it.

I don't know your name, but you seem nice to me.  WHy did you cry as I passed you?  Did I upset you?  I know I told Heather I didn't want any friends, but I need only one.  Would you be it?

Clinton

Raven smiled.  She put the letter in her pocket.  The bell rang and she went to her SSA class.  She silent read the note over and over until the next bell rang. As she came out of the class room, she bumped into Janine.  They walked to P.E. together, even though Janine didn't have it.  Raven dressed out and went to the new gym.  The only thing she could think about was her meeting with Clinton.

Chapter 5: A Bad thing

After P.E., Raven went to the locker room, got dressed, and went to the buses.  Mac came up to her. " Raven, I need to talk to you alone."  Raven nodded. " What?"  " Daniel's going to kick Clinton's ass."  " For what?! Saying he didn't want any friends?!"  Mac nodded.  Raven watched Clinton walk by.  She saw Dana.  " Dana!"  Raven explained everything.  Salina came over to them and Mac told her.  Salina turned to Raven.  " Tell him." " How?"  " Go up to him."  Raven walked upto him and tapped him on the shoulder.  He turned to her.  She smiled.  " Can I talk to you for a
minute?"  He nodded, so she continued.  " You see, Heather told her boyfriend what you said to her and now he wants to kick your ass.  I don't know why."  He only stood there.  Then he looked directly at her. " Did you get my note?"  She nodded.  He turned away from her. " Why me?"  She didn't have an answer for him.  He got on his bus and sat down.  He put his face in his hands.  Raven went back over to Mac.  Daniel walked to Clinton's bus and saw him.  He was about to
get on, but Raven grabbed him.  " You get on that bus, you'll be as good as dead."  He shoved her off and got on.  An administrator was called and they pulled Daniel off the bus and questioned him and they did the same with Raven and Clinton.  After the questioning was over,  Raven left for her bus.  She got on and sat down.  Suddenly, she heard her name and it was coming from the door of the bus.  She looked out and there stood Clinton.  She smiled as he handed her another note.  She sat down, opened it, and read it.

Raven,

Thank you for helping me.  I needed it.  I'm sorry for hurting Heather's feelings.  There is something I need  to ask you, but I am too embarassed to write it or to say it out loud, but I will ask you anyways.  Would you go out with me?

Clinton

Raven stared at the letter in disbelief.  She couldn't believe it.  She put the note in her pocket.  She
couldn't wait until she saw him again.

Chapter 6: The Answer

Raven got off the bus.  She saw Clinton get off his. She watched him.  He dropped his bag and stood in place.  She walked up to him.  " Clinton?"  He turned and looked at her.  She smiled.  " Are you okay?" He shook his head, picked up his bag, and walked away. She watched him go.  What was wrong with him?  He seemed so distant from her suddenly.  She walked up to Salina and they went to find him.  They found him.  He was going into his special education class.  Raven saw
Mr. Miller standing outside the door and approached him alone.  " What's wrong with Clinton?"
Mr. Miller looked at her.  " Are you the one he wrote the letter to about being his girlfriend?"  Raven nodded.  " Yeah. Why?"  Mr. Miller smiled.  " What's your name?"  " Raven."  He smiled again and went into the classroom.  He came back out about 2 seconds later.  He glared at her.  " He says that a friend of yours went up to him and said you told her to tell him off."  Raven was shocked.  " I did no such thing.  I swear to you.  Can I please talk to him?"  Mr. Miller nodded. Raven went inside and saw Clinton sitting at a table with his face in his hands.  She sat beside him.
" Clinton?"  He looked at her with tears in his eyes. She turned to him.  " I didn't tell anyone to tell you anything.  I swear.  Why would I do such a thing?" Clinton just kept his eyes locked on her, not saying a single word.  She became angry, but not at him. " Who told you I said all of that stuff?"  He
swallowed hard.  " Danielle."  Raven looked at him in diebelief.  He had spoken.  She then turned her attention to the name he had said.  Danielle.  She smacked her head on the table. Clinton pulled her to him, so she couldn't do it again.  She calmed down.  " I have an answer for you. Yes."  The bell rang.  She hugged him and left the room.

Chapter 7:  Finding out

Lunch time.  Raven thought it wasn't going to come at all.  It wasn't a block day.  No Clinton.  Heather approached her in a blaze of fury.  " What the hell is your problem?!"  Raven looked at her. " What...." " You're going out with Clinton!"  There were gasps from evryone sitting around them.  Salina looked at her.  " Ray, are you really?"  Raven nodded and then turned to Heather.  " You're with Daniel! What does it matter to you?!"  " You really wanna know?!"  " Yeah I do!"  Salina pulled on Raven's arm. " Uh...Ray?" Heather glared at Raven.  " Why are you with him?! So
you can say you have a boyfriend?!"  " No! Because I love him!" Salina tugged again.  " Uh....Ray?"  Raven glared at her.  " What!"  " There's Clinton, he's with Mr. Miller and he's crying."  Raven looked over at where Clinton stood.  Salina was right.  Raven pushed Heather aside and went over to Clinton.  He saw her coming.  Mr. Miller saw her too.  She looked at
Clinton.  " Are you okay?"  Mr. Miller looked at her. " He wants to talk to you alone."  She nodded and Mr. Miller left us.  Clinton looked at her before lowering his head.  Raven didn't know what was going on, but this was scaring her.  " Clinton, you can talk to me." He sat on the bench and she sat beside him.  He looked at her.  " He did it."  Raven was confused. " Who did what?"  " Daniel did it."  Raven shook her head.  " Can't he just leave people alone?"  She was still angry at Heather, but was trying not to show it.  Clinton turned away from her.  " Why can't I benormal?"  Raven touched his shoulder.  " What do you  mean?"  " Why am I so.....different from othersRaven?"  Raven couldn't answer him.  Her mouth got her into trouble alot.  The bell rang.  He stood.  She
looked up at him.  " I am going to my friend Dana's after school..."  " Which means you're riding my bus." She nodded.  " Would you mind if I sat with you?"  He smiled and shook his head.  As he left her, he wondered if she would love him for always.
