Full Name Given: Phil
Age: 81
Occupation: Sunset Arms Boarding House owner
Voice: Dan Castellaneta
Phil is the definition of wily. He is capable of manipulating his grandson into participating in anything from a pig war to an eating contest.
He gives the best pep talks, and can cheer me up with one of his ridiculous lines nearly anytime. He is forever yelling at that freeloading, lazy bum, Oskar Kokoshka, and complaining about how old and feeble he is. His advice is great, although it rarely helps.
Phil is incredibly superstitious, as seen in “Friday the 13th” and “Grandpa’s Birthday”. In the later, he believes he is going to die on his 81st birthday because no one in his line had lived past then, despite his doctor’s insistence of his being “strong as an ox”. He is definitely the most athletic 81-year-old I’ve ever seen.
When he was young, Phil’s relationship with the girl who is now his wife, who he calls “Pookie” (Tress MacNeille), was much like that of Arnold and Helga’s. Gertie was constantly bullying him and torturing him. This gives Arnold/Helga shippers like myself a little more hope and a lot of fan fic ideas.
His voice is one of those that you can listen to and know exactly what his personality is like. He just sounds like an old, witty geezer. It’s hard to believe that the same guy also provides the voices for Homer and Genie.
Phil is bald and has bushy, light grey eyebrows. He wears a white shirt, brown pants, brown suspenders, and brown loafer-like shoes. And what is up with that thing on the back of his head?
Trivia:

Quotes:
~ “Never eat raspberries.”
~ “Sounds like young Arnold has another one of his complex labyrinthian conundrums of a boyhood problem.”
~ “Did you make watermelon for dinner again, Pookie?”
~ "I may be feeble minded, but I'm not stupid."
~ (He is practicing his golf swing and throws the club through a nearby window) "One more before the cops show up."
