Full Name: Steele
Though I really didn’t care for the movie, I loved Steele.
He wasn’t even that good a villain. He was a total jerk. A stuck up, jealous, prejudice horse’s rear-end. But he had a magnificent voice that made up for it all. ::sigh:: JC has such a beautiful voice.
I know, you shouldn’t judge a character by its voice. But that isn’t the only reason I like him. The scenes with him after he goes insane in the woods were terrific. I absolutely loved the one where he stumbled in to the barn and related his story to the other dogs. His voice was just so full of emotion. I could listen to my tape of that scene all day.
If the movie had have been any better, I probably wouldn’t like him, as I would feel sorry for Balto because of they way he was treated by Steele. But as it is, I didn’t feel at all bad for him and Steele remains on my favorites list.
