*Have you ever had a teacher who was so great or so terrific that they made learning fun? Well Mrs. Jennifer Hilton was one of those teachers. She made you want to come to her class even if you skipped all the rest of school her class was one you would attend. Jennifer taught for only one year at Layton High school in Layton, Utah as the 10th and 12th grade English and Honors English teacher. She was also the coach for long distance running and was supposed to take over coaching the football team for the 2000-2001 school year, but as fate would have it she'll never get the chance to coach the football team. It's not because of any form of prejudice its because she lost her life in a car accident on Tuesday, May 23rd 2000.
Both her and her son died because neither were wearing a seatbelt at the time. The police and other investigators have come to the conclusion that she had unfastened her seatbelt so she could reach behind to the back seat to refasten her son Alec's carseat. That is when she hit the medium and continued to roll into oncoming traffic.
The following poem was writen by me and dedicated to her loving memory.*
Mrs. Hilton
We know with all our hearts
That she is in a better place
With loved ones for all time
and that she'll look down
Upon us from the holes in heaven's floor
But we will never forget
Her smiling face
Her sweet voice
The way her high heels
Clicked loudly on the floor
As she hurried on her way
She'll be there
Fresh in our memories
Every time we
Pick up a book
Or read a poem
Her laughter will
Ring in our ears
Everytime we laugh
She maybe gone physically
But her soul lingers
A little of her is in each of us
So she maybe gone
But she'll linger on
Inside each and everyone of us
Because we'll carry her memory
Forever inside our hearts
