JESUS Christ said all the words in this verse, yesterday's verse, in part of the previous day's verse, and throughout the remaining verses in this Chapter (such as red letters in King James) so this Gives Far Greater Good Blessings For All than many other sections of the Bible.
John 5:21 GOD'S WORD® Translation "In the same way that the Father brings back the dead and gives them life, the Son gives life to anyone he chooses". Consider the word "dead" in this verse [hence sleeping]: a sleeping Soul is normally less reliable than an alert Soul [such as a Person when dreaming and wakened might say nonsense from the census perspective and more importantly from JESUS Christ's Perspective. JESUS left the tomb and as written in Matthew 27:52 King James Bible "And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose,".
Those being put into graves appear dead as symbolized below, though as much as Good as written above, Faithful in JESUS Christ Spirit Word and Work, appear Gloriously at times in situations.
Sometimes the above stated "Wife" would be as She was, other times as if not Her at all but about other lower level spirits in works to immorally [and illegally] impersonate for to deceive.

So to continue this about other than census about Our Reality, there generally (JIA) 2 types of less reliable: the 1 is JESUS Christ may visit and vanish as JESUS Christ is reliable though if to vanish then as a Sheep with the Shepherd missing in action searching for a lost Sheep (Matthew 18:12), hence thoughts and feelings as if an Employee that did not show up for work, or worse; while JESUS Christ is actually Most Reliable Exemplar.
So JESUS Christ as census counted has been one type of idea as if less reliable, and the other is as stated above the less reliable have evidently been counted as the lower level spirits in works for immoral reasons.
So having been in the census, counted as real and as if more reliable, the "3" of Us clearly Joyously Together Agreed that the spirit level we were in, Purgatory level and similar, were as though less reliable, while the census was as though more reliable.
So rather in JESUS Christ Spirit as with broadcasting, to go unprepared into the Afterlife can be within the JESUS Christ Spirit Loving Ascending Blessed Rock Peaceful Bliss Grace (https://biblehub.com/topical/a/afterlife.htm), or can be as a thrill ride similar to the previous "scary" pic.
