Bad Joke Man and Super Herbie vs The Video Game Zombies

BJ needed a break. He wanted to try something new, and he had never been inside an arcade before, so he and Herbie went to the local arcade 50 miles away. As the twosome stepped inside, a feeling swept over the duo.

"Video games melt your brain," said BJ. "See that goop on the ground?

"Yeah . . ."

"Need I say more?"

"Let's leave," Herbie said. Suddenly, a hand clamped on BJ's shoulder.

"Going somewhere?" the person - or thing - said in a cryptic voice. BJ and Herbie turned around.

"Ahhhhh!" they screamed.

"Don't scream!"

"Duhhh...Okay!" Herbie said stupidly. BJ and Herbie were looking at a...real...live...(or perhaps dead) . . . VIDEO GAME ZOMBIE!

"Video games do NOT melt your brain! Plus, they also have numerous amounts of good things about them," the zombie said.

“Oh, yeah?" BJ shot back. "Give me 3 1/2 good reasons!"

"Well," the zombie replied, "They get your fingers in shape, they also get your reflexes in shape, they involve strategy, and they make use of your opposable thumb!" the zombie said in his most educated voice.

Well, hmm . . ." BJ thought about it. "You got ME convinced!"

"Me, too!" Herbie exclaimed. So they all went off and became video game zombies too. The played a variety of games including 'Immortal Wombat 10,"Cracked Man,' and most of all, 'Super Ultra Mega Street Blighter 2 Turbo Champion Edition the Movie the Game.' But then, a power surge came and sucked them inside of the machine. They appeared on the screen.

"Whoa, this game is getting really realistic!" Herbie exclaimed.

"Did it ever occur to you, Herbie, that we're INSIDE THE MACHINE?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?"

The other opponent appeared. He was a tough, burly guy, with muscles in about every place imaginable. He had blue running shorts with a red stripe running down the side. He was poised to attack, with his fists up, and he was on the balls of his feet. Then, suddenly, outta nowhere, right out of the blue, as the opponent approached, ready and willing to pummel them into the 32-bit background, Herbie yelled out a code. "D10649!" A chime sounded. They appeared at the the final stage with the final boss named Phlegm Crimson. Phlegm Crimson looked almost identical to the other guy, only he was wearing a shirt with spikes coming out.

"Herbie! Where did you learn that code?"

"My Super Ultra Mega Street Blighter 2 Turbo Champion! Edition the Movie the Game' strategy guide!"

"Ohhhhh." Phlegm Crimson came over and tapped them both on the heads. The game over / continue screen appeared.

"Wow, his moves really cause a lot of damage," Herbie said in a bit of a daze.

"Hey Herbie, ya got a quarter?"

"Yah, why?"

"Just give it to me."

"Why?"

"Because if you don't, we'll get a game over."

"Why?"

"Because this is is the game over screen!"

"Why?"

"Because we lost! Now give me the quarter before we're out of time!"

"We're LOST?"

"No, just misplaced. Now give it to me!"

"Oh, okay, fine, I will, you convinced me, I give u-" Herbie was cut off by BJ.

"Just give me the quarter!" BJ yelled, sounding annoyed. Herbie handed BJ the quarter. BJ quickly placed the coin on the ‘O’ in game over. A different chime sounded. They stood face to face with Phlegm again.

"Wait! If I remember correctly, to shrink the opponent, press the buttons 1904!" Herbie yelled.

"We don't have buttons!" BJ yelled back.

"Yell it out!" Herbie shouted.

"1904!"

Poof!

Stomp!

After he shrunk, BJ stomped on him. Yet ANOTHER chime sounded. They had beaten the game! They popped out of the false environment and back into reality.

"Hey!" the zombies shouted. "Let's get 'em!" BJ thought quickly.

"1904!"

Poof!

The Video Game Zombies shrunk.

Stomp!

'The Video Game Zombies' name quickly changed to 'The Video Game Zombie Pancakes.' Yet again, the arcade remained safe because of BJ and Herbie!
