Hey Tim...I just remembered this Mt Shasta Story...

This story was told to me by my first cousin Karen while we ere sitting around talking one day around 1995, I think. I told her I had just arrived in Fallon, Nevada after driving from Portland, Oregon. I told her I had stopped at Mt Shasta's bookstore.

She then told me that a friend of hers who works with her at the Navy base (NAS Fallon-Top Gun) had a son that liked to do a lot of mountain climbing. He was climbing somewhere on the northside of Mt Shasta. He told his mom that after he got up quite a waya, he saw a cave. He decided to climb for it. Just before reaching it he suddenly found himself back down the mountain where he first saw the cave. Being perfectly fine except for being a little confused he climbed for the cave again. Just like before, right before he got there he found himself back down the mountain. Well, that was enough for him and he continued down the mountain and never went back.

Not sure how true it is...but there it is...

Un-Holiday Hint...If you're still hunting for that special post-holiday present, look into Tim Cridland's "list member only" offer for his latest book, "Weird Las Vegas and Nevada." We especially liked the cryptozoology section, as well as the Ancient Mysteries, which include the "red headed giants of Lovelock Cave" (we've seen this mentioned in regard to the Shaver Mystery in years past) and the "lost city beneath Lake Mead." Tim's also throwing in some extras including but not just limited to FREE shipping...all for 20 bucks. We'll be sending our copy toS'sLithuanian correspondent Figbar Tobarfor review in 2008, since it does have a reference to this esteemed web zine, as well as to Bruce Walton.
